Bad vibrations (5th gear only?!)
1990 S13
I get really bad vibrations in 5th gear at slow speeds ( less than 50mph ) and then its good till I hit 90mph or so. I can do 90mph in 4'th gear with no vibrations at all, but once I put it in 5th the car vibrates like I lost my wheel weights. There's also a pretty sloppy clunk when shifting into reverse and I start moving... as well going back into any forward gear. Some kind of play in the driveline. I inspected the u-joints and drive-shaft support bearing. They all seem fine... and they also wouldn't explain why it's only 5th gear that vibrates so bad. any ideas guys? Something twisted or worn in my tranny? |
