House djs are rare at raves they can be found in clubs. As far as fresh new dj talent besides theo....itll never happen because everyone is playing the same style and not becoming original. Notice how there are very few djs who do come up but dont last long. Maybe its due to the cost of vinyls or there skill lol. Either or thee-o will be there to rock your socks. hahaha

Like i said they can be found at clubs all across Los angeles even at sushi bars. lol
Really i think its hard making a living of djing. Its very time consuming, Cost money. You have to build yourself up and pretty much cover alot of shows and have hookups to start getting the money rolled in. But you get more recognition when you step out the dj part and start producing.

I work at Dolce Ultra Lounge here in Dallas (Exclusive nightclub/bar) and 90% of the music is house. Places like Dolce here in Dallas also strictly play house with occasionally throwing a random hiphop song here and there.

When I went and visited LA with my girlfriend over thanksgiving, I went to a lot of places that were similar to where I work but it was ALL hiphop. When I asked the locals there they all said that I should expect to hear hiphop everywhere. I wasn't disappointed, just didn't realize hiphop would be so prevalent in upscale lounges. Its funny that you mentioned House in sushi bars haha... b/c those were the only places I heard it.

Im sorry your visit wasn't that great in la music wise. lol. But if you wanna hear house i would suggest the vanguard from the hours of 9pm to hmmm 1ish 2ish they play house and then some upbeat progressive trance or whatever that artist delivers. So far there lineups have been house artist. I really don't listen to allot of house but i can guarantee you if you go to that club you wont be disappointed. Crowds are very good as well. Also try club red. They play trance but also there the same way, house first then some progressive towards the end. Admission varies if its a local or a international dj.
