My KA24E-T Build V2.
Hello.. This will be my 2nd time building a KA24E-T. First one was really great that after selling it I just gotta build another. Here the link of my first KA24E-T build. This time around the motorset I picked up could realy use the some basic rebuild. So first thing was to take apart the motor and inspect it. Motor had a good amount of sludge and timing chain guide pieces was at the pan. Compression did check out ok and bottom rotating assembly looks good. Since the build is to make a summer daily driver I'm looking to just make between 220~250whp and be stealthy at the same time. Below are some of the mods listed...
Engine; - Basic Rebuilt KA24E. - New Felpro Headgasket. - New Felpro Headbolts. - Removed all Emission components. - EGR Block off plate. - Butterflies removed and plugged. - New intake manifold gasket. - Replaced Front and Real Crankshaft seals. Fuel System; - Upgraded Fuel Pump. - CA18 Top feed 370cc injectors. - Wired inline resistors for low impedance. - Stock FPR. Turbo System; - Gladman Performance T2 bottom mount manifold. - T25 or T28 turbo. - Ebay Oil feed and return line. - Stock SR SMIC and Airbox Tuning; - Socketed stock SOHC ECU - ROM tuned according to specs. - Stock KA24E MAF. Ignition; - NGK BKR7E ( 2 step colder ) Gapped to .32 - Stock Ignition /w 12v Relay mod. Exhaust; - CCustom 2.5" exhaust with stock looking muffler. Pics of the S13 Vert Shell at time of pickup. KA24E Motor at time of pickup. Motor Dis-assembly. Parts Cleanup and Gasket replacement. Cleaned and Inspected the Cylinder head cam and rocker assembly. Motor assembly as of 06/29/10 Current pics of the S13 Vert.. Since I'm rocking a KA24E-T might as well swap the front for a Pignose (Zenki) Front, Restored all interior parts and swap over regular manual doors. Engine Bay cleanup and SMIC mockup... Valve Cover cleaned... Engine as it stand today.. Please note the Manifold pictured is for KA24DE just mounted for mockup. Last edited by GroundPerformance; 07-02-2010 at 04:41 PM.. |

Hi, looks good so far, Gladmans manis are the best bang for the buck. I'd look into a cam, you won't have much of a power band unless you do.
Nice work, I enjoy the singlecam. I shall never get away from the feeling of torque from this motor. |

Sexi 240. I love SOHCs, would have built mine but had to sell it.
Hit me up if you need any super clean parts I got a whole engine with 78k on it so rust free and still clean parts. |

Just an Update. Just finished mechanical part of the 5 speed conversion. Installed driveshaft, Manual pedals and clutch pedal, clutch master and slave cylinder. Still need to do the remaining electrical pieces. Thanks to "eesforteen" for helping out on this..
