Oil Pan leak..
So when i had bought the car (s14) there was a slight oil leak coming from the pan, So, last night after work (12:30 AM)
I started working on the POS. And I did everything step by step (had my iphone with me lol) To take the oil pan off I ended up having to take the swap bar completely off (wasn't really hard at all) And take of the cover by the bellhousing to get to the back two bolts.. So I take a the oil pick up, WHICH WAS A PAIN IN THE ASS ! oh, and I didnt notice any side bolts... ? I just loosened the two bolts and it fell into the pan and I got the gasket out, took the pan off, and cleaned the surface, Then got me some permatex Form-a-Gasket around a cork, as suggested.. Put everything back on, AGAIN OIL PICK UP WAS THE HARDEST PART ! Put my oil in, put my lucas in. Then as Im unjacking the car, I see 3 drips of fresh oil, im thinking since it was 7AM by the time I was un-jacking the car, I spilled some... alot.. lol anyway i figured it was just the oil i spilt. So I turn the car on, let it idle for about 10 mins, looked under 3 little drops, assuming it was just old oil coming off. So I take it home, let it idle in front of my house, and look under nothing, I WAS HAPPY ! but then.. I turned the car off, and thr same 3 drips that turn into puddles.. prolly 4 inches in diameter each.. same side... the dipstick side.. Now I havent turned the car on let it idle and shut off again, since I just woke up, and looked under the leaking stopped but a bunch of oil came out.. so could that STILL be the oil i spilt or is there something else wrong? Im pretty tired working on this car by myself.. And really don;'t wanna keep dealing with fail, after fail. |
