Ca18 help
Alright first I'm going to list what all is done to the motor which isn't too much but it might help.
Ca18det (Jap spec) All idle controls deleted PBM Mid Mount PBM Cobra Sr T25 Evo 440s SAFC 2 So basically whats going on is that I'm "tuning", using that lightly, this car by just an safc. I figure if i can at least get it to run and idle i can limp it to the dyno place blah blah. Okay so I got it too idle for the most part and with light blips of the throttle, the revs will go up and come back down like normal. But after a certain point of rpm not sure exactly what it will grab and hold the rev and then continue the free rev? Kinda like a vacuum leak. so i checked, and nothing is leaking, unless something like the manifold is cracked?? which i deem unlikely. So i guess I'm just looking for some insight maybe someone knows something i don't. |

yeah exactly and some dingus who had the car before me did something to the ecu so it has no rev limit per say haha. and yeah but i have the safc now and chur boi is short on funds feel me? so if i can make something work for the time being i would like too. its not a daily or anything like that so if i have to i will wait but I'm impatient

Short on fund ? Then bin that SAFC before it makes holes in your pistons. This thing, along with a manual boost controler are the fastest way to kill an engine. BTW why did you change injectors, but kept the MAF ? They get both maxed at nearly the same time, and if you change it later you are going to need yet another tune. Anyway a boost leak does not make the engine speed go up. With a MAF based ECU, it will bog the car down. For now, just install the idle control back, find how air bypasses the throttle (it is called throttle for a reason ... my guess is it goes through the breathers because PCV valve is dead, removed or installed the wrong way around). If there really is no air bypassing the throttle ... your throttle cable is just seizing. No point in making a tune until the engine is fixed. A tuner can't do anything in that condition. |
