I recall the controversy was that family of politicians usually got scrutinized a lot.
I.E. Bush twins got called out for partying & getting drunk,
Chelsey Clinton got called ugly, etc.
Sarcozy, PM of France had some controversy over some other family member.
Thus in Europe, IIRC, they began this trend of censoring photos of politician's family members for their privacy.

Then again if you're that concerned, you shouldn't be bringing them to take photos to begin with.
And if you must, at least make sure your family looks presentable.

Yeah, the Spanish PM's daughters aren't good looking.
Ugly and/or fat ppl are everywhere though.
So stupid how the media/gossip magazines feels that something like this should be important.
