300zx slave cylinder
Yesterday I almost bought a nismo slave cyl which is a pretty penny. Someone told me to just buy a 95 tt 300zx one, because they were the same. So I started looking and found a lot of half and half answers. Does the 300zx have a larger diameter? Or is this just bs.

I did some research with these some time ago, and did find the Nismo one to be of a larger bore than the TT-Z ones. To say which one is really better is beyond me. The Nismo one looks no different than the stockers, so is that extra 1mm of bore worth it? Your call.

I was just researching about the same subject myself just now. Im finding alot of confusing information.
I found out according to courtesy nissan they offer two different types of slave cylinder for 13, 89-90 240sx ran a 11/16 (17.46mm) slave cylinder, and 91-94 240sx and s14's all used 3/4 in slave cylinders, the same size as the 300zx slave cylinders. They all have the same 30602 part number... (wierd). The 3/4 slave cylinders are a 19.05mm cylinder diameter. According to courtesy nissan the well known and expensive nismo slave cylinder has a diameter of 20.54. ~Taken From Courtesyparts.com~ """When using with NISMO racing clutch kit, this product changes the heavy clutch pedal feeling to a lighter feeling. Bigger cylinder diameter (20.54mm) comparing to the standard one (19.05mm) enables you to control the clutch pedal much easier. Best matched with the NISMO racing clutch series.""" So 300zx (z32) slave cylinders are the same SIZE as any 91-98 240sx. No the nismo slave cylinders is not the same as a 300zx slave cylinder. About 1.5mm different in diameter. |

Now if you're adventurous you could bore out your stock slave cylinder and use the guts from one of these... BTW, same diameter as NISMO
Duralast/Clutch Slave Cylinder (11833) | 1984 Toyota Celica 4 Cylinders R 2.4L FI | AutoZone.com Clutch Slave Cylinder Centric 138.44106 I have one of those Centric and I measured the bore against a NISMO I got for my SR. It's the same freaking size. BTW, I read that this same Centric 138.44106 will work for an RB25 tranny. View topic - RB25DET Part Numbers • spooledupracing.com It would be fair to say that any of those Toyota slaves would work as well for the RB trannay as well. I think the Supra ones are the same too. |

I have ACT HD Pressure plate with street/strip clutch and yes it really makes a difference than the stock SR/KA slaves. The clutch pedal effort is like stock, but not too soft..just nice. I gonna use this NISMO slave with my Z32 Mazworx tranny setup and OS Giken twin disc.

I popped a bunch of the 11/16ths slaves. Like 5 in less than a year. Finally bought an OE Nissan Z32TT slave and have been abusing it for over 4 years now. I can't say if it's necessarily stronger than the 91-98 240 slaves, but the case design was different and required small spacers between the mounting ears and the bellhousing. Without the spacers, it won't sit flush, and you'll crack the case when you bolt it on. Just FYI.
I never realized that there was a difference between the 89-90 and 91-98 slave cylinders. That's good info. If my experience with popping the 11/16ths slaves and never popping the 3/4" is any indication of anything, then if you're popping the the 3/4" slaves, the slightly larger Nismo slave would be a good upgrade. |

The reason why I was searching on this was because my friend and I have the same aftermarket clutch setup. He went through three slave cylinders and one master cylinder (He owns a 89). I just recently got the same clutch setup and just popped my first slave cylinder (I own a 90). So I thought to myself "Im not going through that shit.... there must be some sort of upgrade..."
Even Auto zones replacement slave cylinders are different for the single and dual cam s13's. The 89-90 slave cylinders, part# 12273 has a cylinder bore of 0.687 In. and the 91-94 part # 11785 has a cylinder bore of 0.753 In. (I like autozone BTW becuase they have specs with measurements on most of there parts on there websites). So to my surprise there ARE smaller slave cylinders on the single cam s13's and To my knowledge at least one major parts store sells different replacement sizes... depending on the year of 240sx. Only thing I cant find any kind of info on if theres any kind of upgrade for the master cylinder... |
