i think you will be in either STS or STX

those tension rods might screw you over though, i know spherical bearingings automatically put you in a prepared class.

pretty sure the tension rods are going to bump you up to STX.

Yep, you'll be in STX if I'm not mistaken.

Enjoy your time in the Novice class though.

I'm in STS2 and it's so damn competitive.

Depends on how the region handles it.

On the national level, a gutted interior would be looked upon more closely while if you're just doing regional events, it won't really matter that much.

Looking at the mods, it looks like you'd be in either STS or STX but I'm leaning more towards STX.

And tell them you want to also be classified as a novice since it is your first event out there.

Good luck and have fun this weekend.

I'm thinking DSP because of the gutted interior. If you put back the interior, you'll definitely be in STX.

i may be wrong but i was under the impression that STS and STX did not allow any spherical style bushings, you could upgrade to poly but had to keep it OEM style.

but you can always just leave out the fact they are spherical, just say you have adjustable tension rods. its not like they look under your car or anything.

i mean, if its your first time i'm sure you arent too worried about being put into a competitive class... just go out there and have fun.

Don't you get bumped up to SM class when you gut your interior especially when you removed the rear speaker deck metal and rear seat supports? Doesn't it falls within the same lines as replacing factory metal hood and trunk lid w/ carbon fiber or fiberglass panels to save weight?

Yep I agree. I don't think they'll make a big fuss about having just the adjustable tension rods BUT if you had more spherical ball stuff like the rear camber arms, toe-rods, etc. etc., then I'd say you should be in a higher class.

And, I stand corrected- STX DOES NOT allow spherical ball arms. I did however run in that class for awhile before realizing I couldn't....nobody said anything though because I wasn't that competitive to where I was blowing people away and placing top 3 consistently.

Other than that, go out there and have fun if it's your first time doing autocross! Worry about classification stuff later...

I got fucked hard with pillow ball mounts installed. It's best to feign ignorance when you are starting out.

i don't think even sm allows stitch welding. so.... d prepared? that's where you're allowed to go nuts on the chassis, but not allowed to swap engines.

but if you're starting out, it doesn't matter. it's only when you want to start getting a meaningful win (ie abiding by the rules everybody else plays with) then should you start worrying about proper mods and classification.

sts but the last time i went its really up to what you want to be in. if youre a beginner go as one cause you'll be competing against people who would be better than you. unless you are competing.
