Bucket seat install, please help!

Since I am on a tight budget for my 240sx build I went on craigslist and got two bucket seats for $90. Although they are not as nice as brides and I realize they are "fake" they are for function so I can remain in control when drifting. The problem is I ran into a hiccup when trying to install them. I bought universal side mount brackets, but I can not seem to find a spot for one of the seat rails(the side where the seat adjuster is). If anyone has any information I would love your help and ill try to get a picture to further describe the problem up tomorrow.

drill 4 holes through the bottom of the seat, and into the floorboard of the car..... Then just find 3 large bolts/nuts and bolt them down.... Seat rails are for pussies.

I cannot stress this enough. In a crash there is no guarantee those seats will perform properly. Put then up on ebay for whatever you can get and let it be someone else's problem.

Good advice for safety, but unfortunately to get bucket seats this is the cheapest option, because buying a mount is around $200 where new seats are upwards of $500

You must want death

Sonic Motors sell decent bride and recaro reps with better bolstering.

If you still want death.

I meant that seats would be more expensive and buying new brackets is cheaper

if the side mount brackets are steel, they could be welded to a bare metal floor too; just another option

If you can't save up 100 more bucks for bracket I think you should be thinking about other things other "bucket" seats.......

Your OE seats should do the trick till you get better at racing/drift or whatever your wanting to do.

These should work if my side mounts don't work, but I may have to buy seat sliders which might not be compatible

There is no function in knock off seats, legit seats are built/made with higher quality materials because they support/protect the most vital part of a human body, YOUR SPINE, those knock off seats are cheap because they're made of shitty cheap parts and are only for looks if anything at all... As pathetic as the stock S13 seats are I am damn sure if you get in an accident you will sustain less injury with the OEM seats as opposed to whatever $90 seats you find. Shit my Sparco flexes enough to make me worry sometimes, I've seen what knock off seats do under normal driving, and I've seen legit seats fail in accidents, trust me you don't want to learn this lesson yourself. GET RID OF THOSE SEATS, and when you can afford it, get some legit seats. You could probably find someone selling some decent seats that will probably bolt in better on this forum.

If you have an S13, get OEM S14 seats. If you have an S14, rejoice. In either case, ditch the death buckets. Don't be dumb.

Tim, this is your mother speaking.. Listen to what Zilvia is saying and don't cheap out on the seats or you'll regret it!...... And clean your room

+1 on the s14 seats. They support pretty good I think. A lot better than s13 seats and safer than craigslist/eBay knock offs. If you want to be cheap cause your broke, get knock off wheels or exhaust, not seats dude lol
