Grand Prix

Grand Prix in San Jose was awesome! Had a little of everything, including a D1 exhibition. Track was a little tight for the drift cars, but they got it on.
The drivers were awesome, both on the track and in the pits. All the drivers were very easy going and willing to talk and give tips to new drifters.
Racing was great...watching a Champ car jump through an intersection at 160mph was amazing, well worth the money.

I didn't pay. I actually got paid. Parking service on Friday, 12 dollars an hour and I could see a good section of the track. Saturday I went for a bit, but didn't go Sunday.

Man, that spoon integra tore it up on saturday's touring car race. He lapped a couple of drivers and kept a fat distance from the 2nd place driver. It sounded the best too out of all the DC2's and DC5's.

But, how about them models? The SJ GP girls were kind of hurt, but the Hankook girls were hot. Sharyn Maceren's performance was hot too.

i dint get to see any hankook girls :/. The SJGP gurls looked avg age of 20s... u mean the 4 orange ones who were at the winners podium rite? I got Alex Pfieffers tail light fragment from Friday when he hit the wall at turn 6! He said his fender flare fell off too, but i dint see it... he wants it back if anyone has it...

I agree it was awesome... regarding Champ cars, all i got to say is diizaam! 2.65 liter turbo V-8, 700+ hp!!!

Sorry...My bad. The Formula D drivers were hella cool, Talked to Andy Yen for a bit dude is cool as a fan. Also talked to one of the team members from Pacific Rim, wish I could remember his name. He was way cool also.
Truly I thought that there would be allot of "Tude" flowing, but all the drivers were willing to answer any questions about driving, drifting, car set-up, whatever question that was asked of them even though they have answered the same questions a hundered times before.

SJ track sucked. Called up some of the crews after the race. those train rails causing the cars to jump 6-9inches off the ground. Cracked up the CF tubs on some of the cars, broke engine mounts, and went through numerous shocks throughout the weekend. That track was so half-assed. Continously changing the circuit every night. Some drivers are dealing with bruising to their backs, just like at Trxas risking drivers too much just for entertainment .not thinking ahead "hmm.....would a train track fuck up a car less than an inch off the ground doing 150-175mph". SJ is not the next Long Beach, don't emulate it. Just like Houston, St. Petersburg, and Miami. That hairpin was like the now defunct Vancouver circuit, at least you could pass at that circuit. Besides, where the fuck were the stands, I saw like two constructed stands, very poor design. Go back to the real courses, like Detroit, Rio, Elkhart Lake, at least come back to Cali Speedway. Sure drivers and teams didn't say much in the media, you could see it from inability to have a normal start, that it was a poor track design. 90* turns with short-straights, don't make a track with character.

Give Champ Car a fighting chance, the Mayor is the one who decided about the f-d up track, they wanted to move it but he wouldn't let them. Champ Car just got out of bankrupsy court and I think they have come back strong. Let them get there feet back on the ground and they will be back to the natural road courses

The news said they let Champ design the course... I thought it was pretty good for the first time ever?! Turn 6 had some passing... There were no overnight changes in the course, but they did have to repave the areas where the asphalt was deteriorating. I spoke to a courseworker on Sat, he saw them mixing the epoxy/cement stuff and "patching" turn 6.

Seems like they stinged on the bridges, and also had stupid ppl working it. For a while, they were only allowing 1 way foot traffic!

Hopefully they got enough money to make better roads? But thats doubtful... there is a 5 yr contract with additional 5 yrs possible... Was just cool to have sumthing so big in the Bay Area. AND it was cool that Formula D got some publicity :]... Jonnie, the only Pac Rim name u should know is Daijiro Yoshihara!

Dai is the man!
I agree track changes were made on Friday night. They added the chacane..(sorry about the spelling) to keep the cars from flying straight throught the hairpin. Another cool thing was they raised $500k for the Canary Fund. An organization dedicated to early cancer detection.
