vh45 z32 rebuild, tube rear and much more.

Get Some - YouTube

After beating the **** of this car all last year, closing the year out with a bang and ripping off the quarter of my car (above video at 4:44) It's time to bring her back to life, She's been in storage for the past 9 months rotting away, Took it out and going to go over everything (fully rewire new chassis/engine harness, switch panel, Dual calipers with custom Hydraulic handbrake, a few misc stuff to just make things better and the best part, tubular rear section with retrofit s14 over fenders, Simply got tired of fixing metal panels and using bondo, I want mostly fiberglass and easily replaceable parts, the tubes in the rear not only make it alot stronger to take beatings but alot easier to fix than factory panels.

What's the Z32 like to drift? I've only seen two others in the states.

Awesome video BTW!

So you're going to slice and dice up some S14 stuff and make a mold for the rear quarter, or...?

Updates on this?

Mission makes overfenders for the Z32. The first set might be expensive to get a hold of but you could make molds of them easier than slicing up that S14 stuff.

Sorry guys! I didnt even notice that the threat went through!, Here's the latest!

The wait is over. I wanted to have a little bit more progress before I posted up but I've been busy with some other things I havn't had time so here's the update so far, Next step is to paint the "interior" and the rear re paint the cage and do body work on the fenders, smooth out the factory line that the s14, fill the hole for gas door on the pass side and make a hole on the drivers lol. Then full new wiring and such. enjoi
needed a fresh new rear piece so i cut one off of a junk car.

had a friend bend up some pipes

and away we go

took it out for a local show along with my v8 team

goodbye wiring

cleaning up the engine harness

new handbrake that has been powder coated clear along with my shift knob

best panel you can get, touch screen switch panel complete with relay board and fuses, super clean no spaghetti

re did the panel and made a bracket to recess the arc panel

Im happy to have an ass again lol contrary to popular belief I hate having a smashed up car, even though this is drifting I like my car to not be shitty. And keep it in mind its not done yet the panel will be riveted in with body work etc. The rear section is fully bolt on and removable I can take it all down to the tubes in a jiffy. Also some of you might think that it needs more bracing but I like to believe that since its a drift car and it will be smashed again that it needs give, since this is a partial tube if you stiffen it up too much it will go towards the weakest link and bend the actual frame or even make you abosrb the impact, I would rather replace a small section of tube.

yay updates! really liking the progress. and good evaluation on the tubed rear. if the tubed section is stronger than the frame itself theres nothing to absorb the impact before its dispersed throughout the rest of the car. which could cause some pretty gnarly damage might I say lol. thumbs up man! keep us updated.

Man this thing has been to hell and back, I dig it. Any plans to triangulate the rear tubes more or is it there to strictly hold up the body panels? It looks like it would crumple quit a bit in the event of a love tap, because of the lack of aforementioned pieces.
