Well, third time wasn't a charm. I'm beginning to feel beaten by this car at the moment.

Everything with the motor seems to be working very well but we started seeing some fuelling issues. Because of how I have everything setup (no injector resistor) and because I'm running AEM I need to run high impedance injectors now, unfortunately that wasn't something I was aware of (and now know) and will need to change my injector setup.

It was starting to lean out after 5000 no matter how much fuel was added and the injectors were starting to see a high duty cycle (which they shouldn't at 1000cc).

I picked up some ID1000cc injectors the same night but unfortunately couldn't use them right away as I need to change my fuel rail from 14mm to 11mm.

We did burnouts though when I got back to the shop. It was mildly satisfying despite my loss for the night. I'll have to wait for a fuel rail to show up or find one locally before returning to the dyno again. I'm really trying to beat the weather at this point.

I ended up with 325hp at 13psi so far, which is promising, but nothing what it should be nor safe at the moment.

Theres a video of a few of us doing a big burnout on my instagram http://www.instagram.com/vsmartino

So, finally some good news!

I went back to the dyno on saturday after finally finishing everything up.

We made 416.5hp and 334tq at 20psi.

I'm incredibly happy with how things went but can see where to improve come spring time.

Boost is really laggy and coming in around 4900, which for this turbo is greatly disappointing.
We only also set my rev limit to 7000rpm.

Come spring time I plan to probably get a smaller rear housing (.63) versus the .78 I have now, which should help with some spool. I'm also going to re-degree my cams and see if advancing the intake cam a couple degrees will help.

The graph is also climbing which is showing that pushing past 7000rpm will gain me some more power, which is promising.

Overall I'm happy that I'm finally making some power out of this car!

Not much has happened over the past few months.

I went to japan though for two weeks, most of you who follow me on instagram know how that went.

As for the build, well the .63 housing came in and the motor is sitting on stands right now.
Had to pull it out to re-seal the upper oil pan, change the front timing cover and clean up some wiring/fuel lines in the bay that are just easier with the motor out.

In the process of that though my upper oil pan decided it wanted a divorce and split in half...fortunately I have a spare.

Also made an S13/S14 hybrid valve cover finally. Was tired of my catch can constantly filling up.

Hopefully the motor goes back in this week.

Haven't posted in a couple weeks. Motor should be going back in this weekend if my stuff from powder coating and ceramic coating shows up.

My friend Devo sent me some pics last night that he's been holding out on me for a year or so.

I should also probably fix the first page of this thread, no clue what happened to the pics.

Small update.

The team and I are registered for Gridlife (http://www.grid.life) at the end of may so crunch time is crunching.

Everything started coming together again and started getting my stuff from coating back.
Once the motor was in I was able to clean up some wiring choices I had made previously.

Picked up some over fenders to cover my buckling quarters and avoid fitting wide wheels with less camber.

Also grabbed a URAS style hood vent that will be going in shortly.
Unlike typical shitty installs where most people just rivet these to the hood I have a way of making it actually look like it's part of the hood without any sort of body work.
You'll see later.

Last thing until I can start the car up is make a new downpipe for the smaller turbo rear housing I picked up and re-degree my motor for the adjustable cams - something that was supposed to be done weeks ago but relying on someone who just complains about everything was a bad choice.

I have a schedule to meet!

That's all for now.

What filler was used here? Were they pre-heated before welding?

Finished degreeing the motor and cams last night. Wasn't impressed.
If I choose to swap out the cams at some point they won't be for another set of BCs I can tell you that much.

Next is making the downpipe, finishing up a couple vacuum lines and prep for paint. It'll be staying black just slightly different.
Going with PXR black pearl, which is the colour of my truck also. Should look good!

Got my valve cover back from the coaters so I put everything back together up top.
This is probably the most satisfied I've been with my engine bay in terms of placement and scheme of items.

Also sealed up the work for overfenders so I'll be lowering and mounting them tonight most likely.

The car should get re-started in the next day or so and than off for a tune up at the dyno for the smaller rear housing that I switched to.

Good things are happening! Started the car up tonight and so far everything is running smoothly! Going to modify my downpipe later this week and than go for a re-tune.

Over fenders are 90% mounted as well. I need to shave down part of the inner lip a bit.

Excellent, make sure you slide the vent down so the front corners line up with the back corners of the headlights, too far up the hood looks goofy as fuck, check out dmax hoods for reference

I agree. It looks odd so far up, and realistically wouldn't have as much effect with pulling air from the rad anyways.
