We are tuned!
The S14 was tuned yesterday and performed beautifully. Horsepower: 470, 515 (Un-corrected) Torque: 460, 480 (Un-corrected) Boost Level: 15lbs. Fuel: 93 Octane The previous 1J tune which made 463,507 RWHP, was on 18.5 PSI. Quite incredible the difference that 3 liter bottom end makes. Also, due to the displacement differences, about 23% more fuel was needed, I am now using 48% injector duty cycle. Also, we would have gone higher on the boost pressure, however I started misfiring. I am in desperate need of a HKS DLI! If anyone has one, or knows someone, LET ME KNOW. Hearing the car on the dyno after all the hours of work and concern about headgaskets was so pleasing. The JZ sounds exiting the shop garage were incredible. So, I packed my car up and headed 2 miles up the street to my favorite car shop, Touge Factory. I purchased a new wheel: KEY!S Racing, 330mm Deep Dish, Suede. It will be here in about 6-8 weeks. ALSO! I purchased some Driftworks Geo master front spindles and offset rack spacers. CAN'T WAIT! That's all for now fellas. Oh, and since this engine is so much taller, my hood won't close. Going to try and figure something out for that. - Alex |

What else was done to the motor? Whats it tuned on?
Stock 2JZGTE bottom end, 1JZGTE head 264 cams and a 60-1? Those are some nice numbers.

Bone stock 2JZGTE bottom end, only addition was ARP head studs. 1JZGTE Head with HKS 264 cams, 60-1, 680cc injectors, -6 lines front to back, 93 octane. Thank you. I'm very pleased with the numbers as well! |

Yep, those are Pole Positions.
I love them. Only issue...I can only get them to work with Buddy Club Rails, and they don't sit low enough for me. I tried Nagisa, haven't tried Bride, yet, though. I'm also 6 foot 6. I will be cutting out the floor and mounting the seats to the floor soon... |

Small update.
I have the car running flawlessly now. Tomorrow everything is going to paint. Hopefully next week, I'll have the car back and finished! Only things left motor wise are to wire in the HKS DLI. I modified the core support to allow my flex-a-lite fans clearance. Absolutely NO cooling issues anymore! Made new motor mounts out of solid aluminum, bored the center out and ran a bolt through them. I have the engine sitting perfectly, however, I'll make a skid plate to help clearance issues. Also, added some heat reflect on the exhaust side. After a short drive a few days after my tune the exhaust melted a hole in the heater hose line. I found some 2,000F radiant temperature heat reflect and clamped it to the downpipe; hope it suffices xD. Lastly, installed a new 200 Amp alternator. With the fans, radio, fuel pumps running, I was having voltage drops. Absolutely no more issues whatsoever. Took it for a night drive. No plates yet, so I have to be careful xD. That's all for now. I'll be sure to post pictures of the car with all the new aero parts. I can't wait. |
