You could get reckless driving + endagerment to the passenger + lose your license + 2000$+ fine + some jail time.
bare minimum I'd say 1200-1500 dollar fine and license revoked for 6 months no joke. |

The judge won't be that easy if at all on you. My 87 in a 65 on the toll road at night AFTER rush hour-hours alone was $430 and I didn't get any sort of break for it being my first ticket either. To be honest I don't know how you weren't taken to jail right there and then. |

just say "yes, i was speeding and it was entirely my fault and that I won't do it again." Request for community service to lower your fine and you'll prolly save a couple bucks.
I paid off a $1500 ticket for 60 hours of community service which was only $50

Even though you didn't get Jailed right there and then, There is still a very good chance you will lose your license for a while on top of the ticket.
Don't forget they can easily revoke it for that, and if the judge is a real ass he / she can hit you with all sorts of stuff ( like I mentioned earlier ) it's not just a simple speeding ticket anymore. |

You may have not been taken to jail on the spot because he may have thought you were somewhat responsible after talking to you. I got caught up last june doing street thangs that we don't speak of on this site and they let me go but I had papers for court in my mailbox in october. I had to go to court, get booked at the county jail, go to court again but ended up only paying $350 because the Public Attorney lowered the charge to a unsafe speed infraction. Hope you get lucky man... MINE STARTED OFF AS A FELONY!

For example: A) Going 45 (give or take) in a 35 at 3:30PM, a local school just got out and kids are going home. = You sir are fucked. No mercy. B) Going the same speed in the same area but this time 8:30PM = No fucks given, most likely wont even get pulled over (unless you're that one and only car and the cop is given no other option really). You getting stopped and how bad you're going to get in trouble all depends on the time of day and the type of area you were in. It is one of the first things that are reviewed. Bad times to do things: time a school starts and ends, rush hour, and 11ish-3am (drunk drivers, etc.) You WILL GET STOPPED. |

I think if you are doing 10 or less over the limit you are ok.( to the person above ) because here in colorado A cop told me they are not suppose to pull someone over unless they are doing more than 10mph over, because of the possibility of the Radar gun calibration or some bs. |

A cop is going to shit on if you're doing 10 over on a residential neighborhood street. They're trained to determine speeds without a radar gun. My friend's speed wasn't determined by a radar, just a motorcycle cop wait to turn at a light. Not sure about Colorado but that goes for everyone in California. I myself have spoken with many cops, many times. |

Some one said that once you hit those triple digits you're fucked.
Actually it's when you hit 95mph IIRC. When you go 30mph over the Max Speed Limit it's considered a felony in the wonderful state of California. |

talk to a lawyer. Maybe take a driving class and sound really sorry when you have court. They might lower the fine. This is just me thinking out the box though

You should be fine. The officer didn't cite you for reckless driving which means the judge the wont see it as putting other cars in danger. This is key because they usually don't care about you, but rather others around you.
Get a lawyer that handles speeding tickets. The lawyer may cost some money, but they can reduce your fine and often times avoid any insurance increase by going to traffic school. good luck. (experience: a friend of mine has 4 tickets all over 100mph within 2 years and he only had to pay roughly 2,000 in fines and traffic school. although that didnt include the lawyer fees) |

I believe they have to be within 2-4 mph on their final tests. freeway and residential speeds, but go on about how much you think you know....(909 should know this more than any others. Riverside is notorious for this training and tickets.) |

Got a lawyer (recommended!!!) and after it was all said and done, I think I had a total fee or $750 after fines and lawyer fees (the lawyer owed somebody I know a favor, so it was cheaper than normal) plus whatever the cost it was for one of those DUI classes on the weekend and MADD class at night in the capital. I was not drunk driving, they just see it good class for learning consequences of terrible driving decisions. To sum it up, what I ended up with was: $750-$900 lost, a Saturday lost a Wednesday night lost, but no points on my license, no record of a ticket, and not suspended or altered drivers privileges. This was in St. Louis though, not sure where you live.

"Scammed by a cop" Really? Quote:
You two must be a phenomenal lawyers. Quote:
For example, if the posted speed limit is 45MPH and you take a right turn going 30-35MPH that can be considered speeding. Then they also said weather conditions can also apply, because you should be driving appropriately with a lot of caution based on driving conditions. In short, you shouldn't be driving in fog or heavy rain just as you would in the dry even though when you drive in the dry/sunny it's at legal speeds, etc.

^^^Damn. That sucks. Here in PA I got out of a ticket without a lawyer because the cop used a time clock to time my speed. I did my homework and got lucky the judge let me test the cops ability and he ended up failing. And I don't care how much training the cops will have I would fight it everytime if the cop wouldn't use an actual gun.
The main reason why I fight is because 99% of the time I'm only driving around 5-10mph over if at all. |
