With Kyrie out, Cavs obviously need help on the offensive end. The Warriors are defitnitely going to continue allowing LeBron to iso. Weakside screens to get JR and Shumpert going may help.
I just dont see Cleveland pulling out the victory in the series. Warriors are just way too deep. Only Warrior to play over 40 min was Curry. Cavs had 3 (Thompson, Lebron and Irving) |

the warriors have found the player to guard lebron with- iggy.
it took them a while to realize that, but once he was put on him, lebron only shot 28.6% with him guarding him, and it was towards the end of the game. huge factor as to why he wasn't able to score in OT/4th cavs head coach is an idiot. played kyrie for 44 minutes, knowing about his injury. GSW average all their player starters at 32 min. |

Although I would say.. Kyrie did a better defensive job on Curry than I thought he would be capable of for being someone known as not a good defensive player. I'll go as far as saying I feel Kyrie outplayed Curry by a small margin yesterday based on stats alone when before I thought they would cancel each other out or Curry might play just a little bit better. I also do think GS lucked out by not having to play the Spurs or Clippers, but if both those teams were determined, one of them would have faced the Warriors in the WCF. (Spurs barely had enough to fight off the Clippers and Clippers totally imploded). Quote:
Not trying to sound like a fanboy here... But I think the Warriors winning would mean so much more as a story. This is a franchise that has not been to the finals in 40 years... ALONG with 20+ YEARS of consecutive sucking.. I've been following them since I was a kid during their Sprewell/Joe Smith days after CWebb left and can honestly say I have been disappointed practically every year. In that span, I feel even the Clippers experienced success with the Elton Brand/Sam Cassell/Corey Magette/Chris Kaman/Catino Mobley era... (Yes, I remember the details well because, at that time, I was thinking even the dam Clippers can catch a break and I was also hoping that there would be a LA vs LA WCF just because it sounded cool). The way this organization totally changed in a relatively short time with the Curse of the Cohen (previous owner) lifted, development of players, and dedication to building a winning franchise AND Curry's story, a guy who was considered too small and not fast or athletic enough to play in the NBA, putting in hard work and improving basic skills to succeed on this level probably brings hope, motivation, and resonates with the common average everyday person more than someone like LBJ, who was born "unique" or "lucky" as an athletic freak with size, skills, and strength. Maybe if LBJ didn't already have two championship rings and this was to be his first.. and if he didn't jump from team to team.. then I would think it would be the bigger story.. |

back to back O/T games, damn!
The ref's definitely played a big role in the game last night. A lot of no calls/bad calls for both sides. Delly all over Curry like a fly on shit, Curry shot horrible last night. I dont think (& certainly hope not) he'll shoot that bad again but Delly did play good defense on him. I'm sure Blatt just told him to not worry about shooting etc, just stick to Curry & give him nothing easy. |

Using the previous games as reference to my predictions isn't the way to go. I've been surprised way too often.
CLE's D cleaned up the little things (like denying GS of their back cuts) and it made a huge difference. With all of the adversity that CLE has faced, they've adjusted SO WELL--it isn't funny. Kudos to all of their coaching staff. Once I saw Bradley Beal speaking highly of Delly's defense on First Take, I took note of it and observed it during Game 2. He made his mark on the defensive end and scored key buckets late in the game. Taking Curry away from the game had more of an impact on his team than letting Lebron ISO for his team. I can't and won't speak for the rest of the series since GS will make more adjustments; maybe it only seems that way due to us not being used to it, but who knows. If Matt shuts him down for the series, who else is going to step up? Side note: with all of the footage of him shooting the ball from the stands, I'm curious as to why he didn't just jack the ball up at the end of the game... Yes, he was covered. But so was Klay...and he made the conscious choice to pass it to Klay. Even if Klay got the ball, there wasn't enough time to get him to chuck it up. Between him and Steph, Steph has got the quicker flickadawrist. I'm not arguing that it would be the best shot possible in that situation but given that he was given the ball with no timeouts, I thought he looked afraid at that moment. Just the way I saw it, I don't need Steph riders using his other points in the 4th/OT periods to back their guy up. I'm speaking solely about the last shot that didn't seem too far off for him to at least attempt. |

Reminds me of The Finals with OKC vs. Miami. OKC was the high scoring west coast team with no Finals experience, and the HEAT after losing the 1st went on to win the next 4 and never looked back. Of course it was 2-3-2 format back then and now its 2-2-1-1-1.

I think they need to work around having David Lee/3 guard lineup on the court when it's closer on the scoreboard. But simply wow. Not even sure if it's good defense or just terrible luck.

Seriously, as someone rooting for GSW it was very hard watching that game last night. Curry didnt find any sort of rhythm until the 4th quarter with a couple shots. i ALMOST thought maybe they would have pulled something out of their asses when they cut that 20 point deficit down but the Cav's stopped that.

Lebrons steal was huge. GSW stealing the ball and Curry missing the uncontested 3 was huge-er. Cleveland earned that win GSW earned the loss. I just wish we could get rid of the Cleveland fans... Well Ohioans in general. |

So, was the highlight of the game the Warriors winning or LeBron flashing everyone his junk (unintentionally) hahaha
But seriously, good win for GSW last night. I liked the line up change Kerr made to start Iggy instead of Bogut. Bogut has been lacking on transition D so it was nice to see the smaller line up start. Im still waiting for a game for Steph & Klay to have a good game together. If/when that happens, the Cav's wont know what hit em ha |

I don't think inserting Iggy into the starting lineup "changed" much. Believing in so, takes away from Bogut which isn't the Warrior's primary problem. After all, with Bogut starting GS went 58-9. Though he kinda went into dumb diva mode when he decided to commit 3 fouls in a 2/3 min span.
Being inserted into the starting lineup shouldn't give or take anything away from the way Iggy's been playing, I can see him winning Finals MVP if they take it all. The Cavs were gassed last night. It was hard to watch them play. I hope the 2 day rest gives them enough rest to play better. If the Warriors stick to this lineup, I think Blatt should try out a Lebron/Mozgov/Jones + two other shooters lineup while running a two man game with Mozgov/Lebron for the first couple of seconds in their half court set if Lebron isn't posting up. Seems to have worked in that short (unsuccessful) comeback they had going in the 3rd. |
