Weird SR problem, car won't crank or do anything HELP!!!

So I get up this morning get in my car and go to class, on my way home my car (1989 240sx with a redtop SR all stock with a front mount and a bov and a tubular mani) seems to be running great so i'm beating on it a little being a ricer haha, anyway i get home go inside come back out hop in my car and take it for another little drive, i get back home go inside and realize i want some wendy's, so i go back out to my car push the clutch down and turn the key, nothing happens,

i check to see if maybe my battery terminal came loose as this has been a problem in the past but its fine

i check the ground to my starter its a little loose so i tighten it, no change

i checked all my fuses, all good

i check to see if i rubbed threw my harness its good

i have my electic fan wired to come on with my fuel pump when i turn the key the fan and the fuel pump DO NOT come on

the only thing that works in my car electrically is the clock

when i switch the lights on the they do not come on but the clock turns off

when i push the hazard lights on i hear some buzzing from under my dash

i drop the steering column and pull the dash out and find some little black box with an eletrical plug running to it tucked up above the column next to the brake pedal assembly (the box says NILES on it and has a bunch of numbers on it and says NISSAN and JAPAN, this is what was buzzing so i unpluged it for whatever reason i dunno, but it no longer buzzes obviously

in the end i am completely lost, i have no idea what is wrong and i don't even know how to go about figuring out what is wrong, does anyone have a clue as to what is wrong here? any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advanced

Note: i know my thread title says SR problem and the problem probably has nothing to do with the SR but i honestly have no idea so i just titled it that

Something in your harness has had a major shortout. Double check the harness's under your wheel wells and make sure your wheels didn't rub through even in the slightest. Check for any loose wires in the bay/dash that couldn't have grounded out on something. All I know about the NILES thing is that it is a company that made things for Nissan. Though I would say the box has to do with your hazards considering it started buzzing when you hit the switch. You might very well have to either find all the wires that are shorted out and replace them or if there are too many just get a new harness all together.

Yea it's gonna be a PITA. Good luck though, and make sure you do everything by the book when you repair is so you don't have the same problem again.

yeah i did everything pretty cleanly and legit accept the trans harness, the trans harness is the most janky shit on my car and i originally was going to tear it apart and re tape it all and solder anything that needed to be, but it was running so perfect and really putting out some power for a stock SR so i figured i'd just wait until November while i have the motor out for my winter build to mess with the harness, guess its time to start early haha, thanks for the info bro, i appreciate it
