Ok, this summer, I went to Hong Kong, and I tried to start a business on the internet selling car stuff, mostly the ones you can't buy here at all, like stereos, shift knobs, mud flaps, stuff like that. But now, I put them on Ebay and I put up my own site, and pretty much no one is buying it. Ebay is a rip off when it comes to fees, so even if I sell something on there, there is not much of a profit. My site is at www.geocities.com/hongkongcarstuff and I mail the products from Hong Kong to here when customers want them. I tried posting messages on here to sell, but nothing is happening. I am already making a really little profit, like around 5% on everything and I can't lower the price anymore, please someone look at my site or something and tell me how to improve business.

I WAS gonna order that Razo AT shift knob, I even emailed you about it, but you never answered back. I don't want it anymore cause I'm thinking of a 5-speed swap now. Frequently check your email.
Can you get JDM car stuff? I'm really interested in the S14 Silvia after m/c (97-98) front bumper. So if you can get one, I will definitely get it from you. And what else can you get? All you have are Kenwood stereos and the Razo shift knobs, and the mudflaps. Put on the other products you can get. The more products you have, the more people you will attract. |

I checked your site too, and I think I even e-mailed you about a product and never got a response back. This was back in August. You need to get some more products and make sure you check your email as Anthony said.

Just put more products on there that you can't normally get in the US and I'm sure people will start buying stuff. The steros look pretty cool but I'm not in the market for a cd player for more than $300 (I'm cheap) Also, how do you accept payment? paypal? I'm looking to get some pedals, if you get some pics up for some cool, hard to get pedals I would happy to give you my business. Good luck with your business.

Just list some prices for J-Spec performance parts that you can import. Set up a deal with a performance shop in Hong Kong so that you can get good prices if you buy lots.
Good Luck. My g/f's dad lives in China half time, because he has half of his business there. |

If you want some honest feedback, here it is. I'm sorry, but most 240sx owners I know are not rich. Some are, but most are not. We can't really afford $500 head units. With that kind of money, most of us would rather buy performane oriented parts. And just because they're rare, it doesn't justify it to our pockets. Rare car parts are one thing, but rare stereos are just too much of a luxury. Who on here can honestly tell me they'd rather spend $500 on one single head unit instead of buying rims or strut bars or new tires or a nice exhaust. You're not going to make money from the stuff on your website. I know websites like jspec.com doesn't even make that much money, and they sell rare Japanese performance parts and rims.
I am not trying to be rude or mean, honestly. But I just think you're going to have a hard time with this stuff. I think we've been through this before haven't we? -thach (Edited by spin at 1:13 am on Oct. 1, 2001) |

Thach, I gotta applaud you. I just started modding my car. I would much rather scan through radio stations and have a header and a high-flow cat than a good stereo. I wouldn't mind taking my bf's stock '96S14 stereo than spend money on a new one. A CD-Player will not help me go faster. Maybe in about 2 years, when I can say I've done everything that I wanted to do to my car. Till then, this guy should get some performance parts.

And you need to respond to the threads you start on here. That will help, build a rapport and make us WANT to buy from you. Open the communications line, I am seriously considering getting that Kenwood you posted up, but why would I want to buy it from someone that doesn't communicate?
PS. Will that radio work with US radio stations? US stations tune to odd numbers (92.3, 97.1, 102.7, etc) |

Most oversea's radio's don't pick up americain channels, also the inlet where you plug the antennae in is usually different too <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>
