S13 FLCA questions
I have been fighting with these aftermarket s13 FLCAs for a couple months now and for the life of me cant get the alignment right. I'm getting ready to swap to S14 FLCAs and saw somewhere on some forum that it is possible to drill the mounting point in the front subframe higher so the control arms sit more level. Has anyone done this on this forum? How far can I safely adjust this mounting point before I start running into issues? 10-20mm?
Another side question; I understand the S14 FLCAs add lots of camber to the front. I'm aiming for as little negative camber as possible out of this setup (aiming for -2.5-2.8, I want to track the car, not drift). The coils im running have the slotted top knuckle bolt and have adjustable top hats but im worried i wont be able to get the camber back under -3. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks! |

i ran s14 lower control arm my camber is -2.1.
if anything you can buy the extended sleeve for the coilover to correct the negative camber.

If your coilovers have camber plates in the front you should be able to even get close to 0. Make sure the slots are facing the proper direction for less negative camber and you should be okay.
I ran s13 flcas, slotted coilovers set for maximum negative camber and I barely got past -2.5, so you shouldn't have a problem. |

Also, the knuckle taper is not the same on S13 and s14 FLCA stud. TBH the front suspension setup on the S and R chassis are crap. Get rid of it and buy a complete suspension setup kit. TDP is very nice, PBM too. I went cheap with a keisler and i don't regret it either, also i can already hear def pointing how badly they are designed (which is somewhat true, but it still works) You are welcome to read and participate in the roll center and suspension pick up thread: http://zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=296725 |

I'd love to buy the abercrombie or wisefab kit (or TDP, the manufacturing on their parts looks top notch), I just can't justify spending $1000 on a suspension kit designed for drifting for a grip car. I've been going back and forth between the PBM and GKTech knuckles, unfortunately gk stopped making the aluminum forged knuckles and only makes sheet metal knuckles now. I've been keeping a close eye on the roll center thread as well as several other suspension threads over on NRR. I have been very interested in the bolt on roll center correction kit gktech offers, I'm just not very interested in the +25 track as the car is already going to have increased track with the s14 arms. Thank you for your response. |

Check keisler then. It is basic, but light, and it works. I am using it for grip driving. So far i broke one ARB link (nowhere near enough metal ... it looks like a 1mm aluminium wall, and it is threaded inside...) but that's it. I am using the second setting for direction. The first one makes my steering pump cry so i am not using it. Too bad, full lock @ quarter of a turn was mind blowing

I looked at that Keisler kit. I like the design of the knuckle, but the lower control arm looks sketchy in my opinion. Your input doesn't help them much, lol. How did you fix the sway bar issue? Threaded locking nuts?
