Ok.... I have a 91 240 sx se.... I'v had a hot shot header on it for about 4 years. I never had any problems getting it on or off. But.... the the place where the egr connects broke off. This made the car run terribly, get bad milage and it sounds like a lawn mower. And I'v been getting tickets left and right..... it sucks. I'v been broke lately and I couldn't afford to replace it with another hotshot header. I took the cheap way out and got a pacesetter. I'v got the old header off and I'm ready to put the new one on.... but it gets caught between the bell housing and that rod that connects the steering column to the rack. It has a little U-joint on it.... but I can't figure out how to get it off. If I could get it off, this would be easy. So.... my question is, is there some trick to this? has anyone else had this problem? how do I do it? is there any way around it? I'v been thinking about loosening the motor mounts and jacking the motor up... will that give me enough clearance? I'v moved the steering wheel all over the place to see if that would help... but it doesn't.... I need a few tips, I'm not a great mechanic and I really need to get it on... I this is my only car and I need it fixed.... will someone please tell me what I need to do.... please. |

Same thing happened to me when I installed my Stillen Headers on my 300ZX. I dont remember how we got around it but it was a 4 day install. Pulling the motor would have been ezier. Im not sure how to get around this in the 240.
I have a brand new HS header for sale in the box and fresh off Hotshots new CNC welder if anyone is interested. I will sell it for $300 shipped. |

They should fit just fine. Even if they need some modification its just a matter of extending the bolt holes a little. But it shouldnt be an issue since these are a new batch off their CNC welder.
