I think you'll just have to go for it. I'm not sure it would be ultimately more cost effective than doing an sr20 swap, though.

You will probably still need a new/modified oil pan or crossmember (check with moroso to see if they have any front sump pans), motor/trans mounts, driveshaft, and headers.
I don't know all the specs on that motor but I'm betting it's an iron block (heavy). It would be hard for me to go that route even if I did get most of the stuff for free.

That motor is basically a 350 with two cylinders chopped off. There are a few performance parts for it out there but nothing like an LSx. I think you should sell it and put the money towards something more conventional, but it would definitely be different if you did that swap.

Should also be noted that (at least locally), the T56 is between $800-2000, so cheap it may not be...

I don't have to use t56 could use a t5 which is a lot cheaper and there is tons of performance parts including turbo kits

I either have LU3 block which is 200hp 250lb-ft, or the
LG3 block 215hp 265lb-ft.
The only problem i see is its a rear sump engine which is a problem everything else i can fab and make work. So if i can figure that out id figure around $2k id have a very unique engine swap

The LS1 is a rear sump motor as well. You may be able to modify one of the front sump pans designed for the LS1, but you'll also have to modify the oil pickup tube.

For what it's costing you in time and fabrication material, I'm betting you could dang near have a VQ35, which makes more power, sounds FAR better, is probably lighter, and not to mention easier to swap.

Why are you trying this again? Oh yeah, to be "unique"

He did not ask for opinions if he should do it or not but for insight if someone has done it before. I think, if you got the money and skills, why not. No need to impress anyone for any reason. If you do it, you'd be the helping hand for others who may want to do it.

I'm trying to help save the guy from a headache and a poor performing engine, but hey, do as you wish, it's not like I'm going to go to his house and stop him.

This is a forum, you can expect people's opinions and take them with a grain of salt.
