s13 Crackling noise from turbo at high RPM

I have a zenki s14 motor in my 240,its completely stock except for the intercooler,I hear a crackling noise from my turbo at high RPM,the engine runs great and the turbo spools beautifully and I ve had no problems. It still set at 7 psi as well. Please help!!

ps It only makes the crackling noise after 4500 RPM,it almost sounds like electricity, but thats just a description of what it sounds like!

Thanks much!!

This is detonation. retard the timing or use better quality fuel this will kill your motor.

exactly.

Again 95% of the SR motors I work on or diagnose have the WRONG, base ignition timing. This is deadly serious. It seems even the most reputable swap shops do not check this or don't check it correctly....

you MUST buy a timing light, as your first purchase after buying any performance vehilce.
