15k for the whole car or just the sr? What are your plans for the car? Horsepower/torque goals?

My advice, do some research so you have a clue when it comes time to do the work.

My first recommendation is that you investigate this awesome feature we have called the "search" button. It can "find things" for you.

Read through threads, see what other people have done to reach similar goals.
350 on a stock block sr20 isn't that hard.

No, you DIDNT say that, you just told us your plans about moving. Maybe you can tell us about how you're gonna decorate your new place. What color curtains are you buying?

If you can't figure out how to get 400hp out of an sr20det for $10k, I hope you get suckered by some scam artist "tuner" for every last dime.

Or you could be halfway smart, take my advice and do some RESEARCH, and save yourself a lot of time and money.

Go read the new gtx2867r turbo thread..it had 20+ pages of your answer..and it's kinda hard to have us tell you how to properly spend 10-15k on your car..it's however you would like..either do it cheaply and get tons more parts or do it the right way only end up with a good set of wheels/tires, coilovers and basic bolt ons and achieve around 300rwhp..not sure what your intentions are.

Look its a first build and but ill do research like you demand im just trying to shot for like 350hp. 400hp is pushing it but I was looking for advise cause Ive been doing research for like 2 months now. I get what your saying and i know i can get 400hp off 10k easy but i was hoping to just hear from other people who have a 350-450 set up to see how much they spent or what not.

Against the grain

Upgrade your F/P
min 740cc Inj
I/C
Standalone
Z32 MAF or MAP
Upgraded Clutch
Select a correct sized turbine.
Bank the rest.

Call it a day, screw, cams, RAS, FPR head gaskets, pistons etc. Nice to have but really no required. But its the internet so build an engine to race spec to do 90% daily is the way to go.

I was in the same position as you, but ultimately, I decided against a built SR. Instead, I bought 6 Ford Pintos. Each one has about 90 HP, so combined, I have 540 HP. That's a good 150-200 HP more than the SR will make on the same budget.

I agree with most of this except the cams and headgasket part..if your goin with a bigger turbo and want to push more boost I would highly recomending a metal headgasket/arp head stud combo so your not limited and have the peice of mind since that's a sr20s weak spot..also another bottleneck for a bigger turbo, lets a
Gt2871r.. a set of cams are highly recommended as well.. Look into a pair of Jim wolf tech s3 cams for something like that..

Its really pointless to build an sr20det these days.

For that same price $12k you can do a 550rwhp daily driver pump gas 2jz-gte swap

and not have to touch the internals, not have to trust any machine shops = priceless

What you're gonna hear is a lot of gt2871r builds.

New and supposedly tested to be overall better: gtx2863r

I'll tell you how to spend your money.

Step one-Get the sr running as cheaply as possible and turn up the boost controller until the stock turbo starts to cut out. Then turn it down until it doesn't.

Step two-Buy sick wheels

Step three-Buy more sick wheels

Step four-Buy sick aero

Step five-Impress all your friends with all the rad bro "drifts" you're "ganna" do...
