Are you planning on doing all the work yourself? I was not much older than you my first time I swapped a car. Planned to do it in 2 months. Took 10 lol. Just finished my ls3 swapped s15 and even that took longer than expected. 6 months for this one.

So my parents are getting me $5k loan instead and ill pay it back in time, so my plan is with that $5k buy the engine and tranny, mounts, wiring, and all the other things ill need. Like i said my plan is to just get it running, so ill only buy what's necessary and cut corners. Everyones gonna have an opinion on this but its how im doing it.

There's alot of little things you don't realize you need until you start doing the swap. It adds up quick trust me. What ever you think your gonna spend on the swap, multiply it by at least 1.5

You don't need a build thread. You need advise from people who can make this easier for you. Parts list first then build thread while you build. It's all in the prep man.

Im doing a 2jz swap currently into an s14 and im spending way more than I anticipated due to me wanting the best of everything. I have a good career that allows me to do that but you don't. Be smart man don't get in over your head. Remember you are working on a 20yr old car, everything has to be replaced...

Alot of my parts will be from cx racing, engine and tranny mounts, fmic + bov, and downpipe with a catback. Ill be getting a wiring harness from wiring specialties and a local shop will be making me a custom driveshaft. Ill have to wait till i get the engine until i can add more things. Please feel free to add on what you feel is necessary.

Quick update: Found an sr20 s14, for a steal of a price, and im thinking of dailying it while i get parts ready for an rb but honestly i might just get a big turbo for the sr and call it a day, thats only if the rb becomes financially impossible.

I was feeling particularly rich the day i started this thread, but i dont have too much so id like to cut corners where i can, plus im keeping the motor stock so i dont have to worry about getting performance parts like an expensive ecu, id rather go a z32 ecu and get a tune. So yea oem or close to oem parts.
