I've got a shear and brake on the way and a couple orders stacked up, I'm considering it.

If one wanted to, they could do a full tub. Passengers side would be easy, drivers not so much. You'd pretty much have to convert to hanging or floor mount pedals inside the car. Even after this is done, you'd still hit the frame rail (offset, width etc would have a playing factor in this) with the tire. Especially if you cut your steering stops off your front control arms.

Thanks.
Yeap. 16-Gauge Steel, Single-Axle Trailer Fender, 10-3/4" Wide - 14" to 15" Tires Redline Trailer Fenders F1075X32-1R I found these ones that are wider than the Northern ones most people use. It allowed me to come inward and outward as far as i wanted without having to double up or extend. Also, one fender cut in half hamburger style is enough to do both tubs with.

one trailer fender wasnt wide enough. so i welded them together hotdog style. flat edge to flat edge. cut them in half, hamburger style. trimmed as needed. welding on the nissan steel is always a bitch, ive done way to much.[/QUOTE]

These are two different cars we did at our shop. The tubs are 14" wide and made out of 16ga steel. We could have made them narrower, but wanted to try it out going straight up from the frame rail. Some will like, some will not. There really is no wrong way of doing this as long as your gaining space in the wheel well.
Unfortunately the way our site is setup, I cannot copy a picture link address. I still need to add updated pics of the black hatch. It's just about finished and ready to drive home. Sorry for the linking, mods can delete if they see fit. Jays two4oh! Devins 240 |
