s14 temp guage not working

I have a 97 with the ka still, I just got it and the temp guage doesnt work. It stays at half all the time, even when the car is off. It never goes up or down. I swapped out the sensor, no luck. I also grounded the wire to the sensor and the needle went all the way up. What else can anyone suggest to do?

If you replaced the sender and it's still not working properly, the gauge is bad. There's only those two pieces in the circuit.

You say the sender is good, correct? It's a new one, for the S14? There's nothing else related, it can't be wiring as you can trigger it from the sender, so it has to be the gauge unless the sender you've got is shit.
