The pink panty dropper- ls1 S13
I've been researching the ls1 240sx swap for ages, and one thing that's always been missing is a comprehensive list of everything that will need to altered or modify in order to retain a factory like operation.
So here's the build: I picked up a 2004 GTO engine with 31,000 miles, it arrived super clean and I couldn't be happier. I used the t-56 transmission out of an f-body for ease of install even though it's geared slightly less aggressively. Issue number one. The GTO transmission shifter block is offset toward the rear, so it won't align properly with the shifter hole, whereas the f-body is over center and lines up perfectly. I went with the silkky swap kit because Justin and those dudes know there shit, and the customer service is next to none.. But the choice is yours. Included in the kit: Motor mounts Tranny mount Willwood clutch mater cylinder and stainless lines Driveshaft Oil filter relocation kit New sump Custom pan Power steering lines Sway bar And headers "Within the next month or so they will have an a/c adapter kit as well I ran into a few other solutions along the way as well Lokar offers a 48' inch throttle cable with an ls1 end I used tick performances speed bleeder Mishimitos universal 27x 3 inch radiator and two 12" electric fans Wiring specialties is making the harness as we speak, they offer a simple plug and play solution, great customer service, and a great install write up. |
