sr20det redtop psi question
I have a SR20DET S13 redtop on my 1995 240sx. I'm running 15psi with a manual boost controller. I have a 2 1/2" straight back exhaust. Intake. Walboro fuel pump. Down pipe. Front mount intercooler. Stage 3 clutch. Short shifter. 13lb light fly wheel. Do you guys think its safe to run this much boost. He said 10psi is fine. What do you guys think?

Also I'd be more worrried about your injectors duty cycle then breaking a turbo,Go buy some larger injectors/t28 turbo and a wideband and even a upgraded maf why your at it and be worry free or turn the boost down to 11psi or so it will be just fine. |

10-11 psi is stock not 7
Also I'd be more worrried about your injectors duty cycle then breaking a turbo,Go buy some larger injectors/t28 turbo and a wideband and even a upgraded maf why your at it and be worry free or turn the boost down to 11psi or so it will be just fine. What recommendations you guys have for large injectors that will work with a t28 turbo upgrade. What maf also. I forgot to mention they did a wideband on my car when they boosted it up to 15psi. Thanks |

wait, a stock redtop s13 t25 setup runs 10 psi stock?
i thought it was 7psi?? where does that confusion come from? so what is ideal psi for a T25, Ive heard 14psi is pushing the life of the turbo, Ive heard 14 psi is perfect for some.. what gives?? Gdimension told me 10psi is the most you should push for a stock t25.. |

Let me reword it. I got my car back on monday. The gasket was messed up on my turbo manifold. A new copper gasket was installed and manual boost controller was set at 15psi. A wide band was used and they said 15psi it will be great. Just need the help, so I hope this gives more details and I can get better educated on teh topic I dont want to mess anything up.....

so many posts on this, just search
Change exhaust to 3" ,turbos dont like resrictive exhausts.go max 12ps on t25,anything past 12 and turbo is working past it efficiency range .Save money for a wide band 02 sensor with gauge, head gasket ,Cams, better turbo, injectors ,maf ,tune, then turn up the boost.

ive seen many sr20s sent to the grave ,because of this .Ambient air temp also has a big thing to consider.Running a t25 higher than 12ps1,stock injectors with Side Mount Intercooler living in Arizona and racing around on low octane gas. Will only shorten the life of your hard earned swap.Investing in a wide band and learning about correct a/f ratios @ mid through WOT is key to preventing detonation and the destruction of your SR.Always protect your investments.

live and learned ,dont feel bad ,I blew up a t28 from s15 because I was using a HKS SSQV,It was opening too late causing turbo surge/flutter.I finally purchased a new one and switched over to Synchronic BOV and recirculated it .No more pigeon sounds .Best BOV .And no more ricky racer swoosh sound.Dont need added attention by the police here in Ca.
