WEST COAST REGIONAL "EVENT"! ALL WELCOME!
this is only in the beginning stages and just a discussion of what to do, where to hold this, who is willing to help me out, and pretty much everything about this get together. MOST LIKELY THIS WILL BE HELD IN CALIFORNIA LEANING TOWARDS SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. this may turn out to be a 3 day event and there will be a fee for this event to cover hotel rooms, food, event entrance fees, and pretty much any fee there will be (besides your speeding tickets for racing to socal for this meet ) So to start this thread off i will post what i have in mind as for events during the course of this 3 day event (fri-sun during summer)
-240sx meet with some hosts -bbq -movies -drift event (watching and/or participating) -car show -cruising around -clubbing -theme parks (magic mountain, knotts, disneyland, universal studios, etc.) -car shops (jspec, phase2, super autobacs) -casinos possibly? -hang around the cities? this is all i can think of but im sure theres more cuz im not from socal so i dont kno what else they have to offer. This may work out and may not and right now the chances that this meet will happen is 50-50 so dont expect this go according to plan. Also just to let u kno who i am (for those that dont already kno), i am the infamous jon wayne around here originated in norcal thanks to var and lazy penguin. I am 19 and have been around 240s for a mere 2 years. I have tried to done meets before but some fell through in the beginning but my most recent meet went by far better than most have expected. The reason y im tellin u this is so that u guys can kno me better and if u decide to help me with this "event", u will kno what kind of person you will be working with. I would really appreciate someone from socal to help me with this so that way we can see whats happening to both regions of cali OR if someone from outside of cali would like to help that would be great as well! BUT again like i said, this is just the starting so we dont kno exactly what would happen and we have half a year still so hopefully we can get this going. (ALSO dont think that no one will attend this cuz this isnt that far of a meet. Plently of ppl drive down to LA and even at my meet ive had ppl drive 3-4 hours away from where i live just to go to a social meet. So umm yea, this wont suck iuno? ) |

I'm down to help you out Jon. I set up a meet last August and I had about 70 cars show up, not all at the same time, but there were about 70 cars there.
If you guys want to hit up the clubs in LA, I promote for the world famous Century Club in Century City, CA, near Beverly Hills. I can get you guys in for a discounted price, and the ladies for free. Empire is the name of the "event" on Saturday nights, and is 18+. |

If you guys want to get into Six Flags, I can get tickets for $25 each, better than $47 at the park gate.
Neme, it's gonna be in the summer, you have time to work on your KA-T. |

As I said in the other thread, I'm interested in coming if you could get a day at a road course.
I say if you could get a course for a day or two you could have seperate groups of drift and grip, to include everyone. |

Damn, you got HELLA time to organize this shit. Who knows what will be happening in the 240 world by summer. IF I still have mine, I may be down to do all the above.

July 20th- I suppose I could be in the so-cal "helping commitee" and do what I can to help you guys if needed. I like the idea of having a track event on Sat. @ Buttonwillow, and big meet at some major shop. (Super Autobacs, Eibach, Signal etc.) -I'm Zain by the way, located about 5 minutes away from Six Flags AIM= xsr20dettx

I suppose now would be a good time to pitch the idea I had a couple months ago in regards to organizing a 2006 National Convention.
- It would be a one-day event on a saturday, in the summer (yes I know, its hot as fuck) - Location would be Buttonwillow Raceway (SoCal, more or less) - There would be a road race on half the track; drift on the other half - Shops/Sponsors/etc. with booths, demo cars, merchandise, product, etc. - Morning would have a practice, then later in the day we'd have a competition; the winner would battle "pro" drivers for a addtional prize - Raffles, food, games & music - Good times. Yes I have the necessary connections to book the track (and yes I have the insurance too), and it shouldn't be very difficult to court sponsors, giving the backing I can obtain. Fact is, I'm just lazy to do it, but since it seems like more than a few people are interested, I suppose I can resurrect the idea. Ideas/thoughts are welcome. |

It would suck though for someone to drive so far for a track event, then have something go wrong at the track that would prevent them from driving back.
Stripclub night? There's plenty in the Los Angeles area. Six Flags I think is the best amusement park down here. Disneyland is for kids. Universal Studios is just plain BORING. Knott's Berry Farm is pretty fun. Plenty of car shops down here. Super Autobacs, Phase2, Jspec, Milano Auto, Signal Auto, etc. I like the idea of holding a giant one day meet at the Eibach headquarters. Cheapest "nice" motel rooms around here are like $50-$70. Go to Orbitz.com, Expedia.com, or Hotels.com to see the lowest rates. Also, if some people are willing to have some out of towners sleep over their place, that would be great too. |

well i think we might have figured out for the track event. sat would be a good day since by then everyone will be gathered and we would be all ready. So here is the committee thus far:
Norcal division: Jon Wayne (sil-abc) David R. (echo) *Im guessin art is in too * (kazuo) Socal division: Romeo (akademikone) (downshift180) maybe a couple more ppl and that would perfect Ive been thinkin about what we could do for the 3 day thing so this is my outline, please make adjustments or idea changes. Friday: -we all meet up in socal and check into hotel (roughly around morning time maybe?) -hang out for a bit and wait for me to come by -go to theme park, car shops, concert, hang out in the city, movie, anything to do around the day time -grab some lunch as a group -at night time we go out to dinner -cruise around town then go clubbing or go do something like shooot pool or bowling although that might get a lil boring -head back to the hotel and rest or hang out in the pool or whatever Sat: -leave early in the morning to buttonwillow, roughly a 3 hour drive maybe less -track is split for racing and drifting -sponsors, shops, "pros", booths everything like a car show will be there -this is all practice then later after lunch we have the competition -prize giveaways -pretty much arts idea (props to art for coming up with this ) -afterwards head back to hotel and chill and do whatever... get a few drinks and stuff Sun: -we wake up late in the morning around 10ish -check out for ppl that are leaving -we have a car meet hosted by a shop or place -big 240sx meet with other nissans and maybe other cars -big bbq (all event payers wil have a badge of some sort that will give them free food while others will have to pay) -check out booths and shops and hang out -afterwards we can check out other places or just get ready to head out home. -take home a goody bag with pretty neat shit and be happy and wait for next years event This is only a rough guess of what I feel is a good idea for a 3 day event but i kno not everyone will agree so changes are DEFINATELY ACCEPTED! please post feedback and times that would be good, good days, and anything that can perfect this idea. ALSO IF U WISH TO BE IN THE HELPING COMMITTEE PLEASE POST OR PM ME. im tryin to get 4 ppl on each division. also for an incentive for those helpers, they will not have to pay for this event since i kno they will have alot to do but if u guys want to pay that would great still. This event may be a lil bit pricey due to the fact that we will have a track event and hotel rooms and food but it will definately be worthwhile. Right now im just shooting in the dark at around $350 for the whole 3 day event covering everything. Obviously if u dont want to do some things like the track event itll be cheaper. Around $150 for track, $125 hotel, $75 food. Thats what i have in mind at the moment. For those who are thus far in the committee please PM me or just IM me on AIM. this would most likely be our best way of contact. I would like to get ur contact numbers and information about you guys so we can get to kno eachother better. |

o yea so far this is what it would look like who is assigned to do what.
fri - both divisions (socal work on the night time about where to go, what to do, timing, and all that sort (romeo might be able to work out the club if we decide to do that); norcal works on the hotel and help out with socal for the day events.) sat - norcal division can deal with this sun - both divisions (socal can check out the places and shops that would be good to hold the bbq and meet; norcal can talk to shops and see who is willing to come out and place up booths and handle the bbq supplies and goodie bags) Hopefully the tasks are evenly distributed but since this is held in socal, socal division maybe have alot to do since they can see and check out the places where as we have the intarweb and phones to make contact and stuff. |

ok well it seems like theres alot of interest in helpin to organize this thing, maybe a lil too much. Im thinkin about 4 ppl on each division. Lookin mainly for ppl that have connections and are willing to go all out and work their ass of for this. So umm i guess send me a PM about y u should be in the committee and connections and what u have to offer. These are so far the ppl that are in the committee for sure since they offered help early on. (mainly im lookin for someone that has good connections with shops and companies so we can have booths, raffles, giveaways, and attractions. So far we have enough ppl in the socal division to check the places out and talk to companies.)
Nocal division: Sil-abc (talk to shops, hotels, restaurants, research) Kazuo (work out with shops and track event) *need 2 more (someone that also have great connections and can help us out)* Socal division: Akademik (focus on the clubbing) Echo (talk with shops and companies about coming out; check out places) *needs 2 more (someone that has connections with shops and can get companies to come out)* |

I can get a local shop here to come out most likely. They're called High End Performance and they deal mostly with everything JDM. Here's their site, even though it's still under construction.
