SR 5th gear ratio?? .838 or .759 ?????

I've searched and i get both answers.

5th = .838 or .759

Thanks,

The only sure way to know is to open up the gearbox.

Otherwise, you can approximate with calculation. Pick a pace car, radar, GPS, or whatever you want and measure your speed, say 60MPH. The faster you go the more accurate the calculation will be, but use common sense and don't speed.

Then read off your RPM in 5th gear. Don't trust the stock tach. You need something more accurate.

The rounding error on the stock tach can mess up your calculation.

Come back with your speed, RPM in 5th gear at that speed, and your tyre size.
