s14 Radio Help
The other day while I was driving, I noticed the volume was really low and my volume button is broken so I couldn't increase or decrease the volume. A couple days later I noticed there was NO sound coming out at all. I'm not sure what it is.
Could the amp/fuses be done? Or is it just the fact that the stock headunit is bad? I also want to note that the radio powers on and off and can change stations so I don't believe it's a fuse but idk. Thanks in advance |

Is it a base S14 or an SE model. If it's a base model, then the volume control on your radio is probably dead....time for a replacement. See if you can find someone here on Zilvia that is parting out a S14 stock radio. You can probably pick one up dirt cheap.
If your S14 is a SE model, pop the trunk & look underneath the deck lid where your back speakers are located. The two amps on the S14 SE model could have gone bad, hence no sound out of the radio. Same thing, check the For Sale section here on Zilvia & see if you can find someone parting out an S14 SE. You might be able to pick up the rear amps dirt cheap also. Almost forgot, you might want to pop the door panels off the inside door portion & check to see if the PAPER cone on the speakers haven't gone bad. Check the back speakers too. If the paper cones on the speakers go bad, it could affect the sound out of your speakers / radio. Anyhow, hope this helps.... Good luck!! ID PS: Use the SEARCH function here on Zilvia and download a Factory Service Manual for your model year S14. It will help you troubleshoot problems with your radio & amps....
