I was looking around at speedoptions.com and their feature car was this Suzuki Swift. First off, i have always related the Swift to the Geo Metro, but there is no comparing this car! here are some pictures of it:
It doesn't say how much horse power it has but the stock 1.3L DOHC engine produces 115hp. That is a shitload for only 1.3L For more information about the GTI got to www.SSGTI.com they have a good amount of info, and a stage I & II turbo kit for it poste your comments .................................................N ow! |

The Metro was based on the Swift, but it was the absolute cheapest, crappiest version of the Swift.
The SSGTi gets my respect... it's not a bad little car, all things considered. It weighs next to nothing and that 1.3 can really scream. The car weighs about 1800lb in stock form. BTW - the pics don't work and this should probably be in 'off topic' but whatever. SSGTi - Edit: here's a pic of a '90 Swift GT - they dropped the 'i', but it's the same car: |

I'll give suzuki respect. They make good stuff... The samurai is a hell of an offroader, and i'm sure that swift isn't bad either. Sweet looking engine bay too.

Swifts kick arse!
Riding though the mountains in PA one day, my friend in his Civic couldn't figure out why the Swift was reeling him in on the uphills I politely informed him that in it's aparently modified form, it was probably putting out 50% more hp and at least as much more torque... oh yeah, and it probably weighs sub-2000 lbs. One of those or a Omni GLHs - ultimate sleeper! |

Can you give me a little morte information about this Omni? Sorry about the wrong forum thing...I have learned my lesson! I have had my 90 240sx for about six months, and it has given me hell for all 6 months. I am seriously concidering sellimg my S13 and getting a Swift...I should be able to do a clean swap if not have a little money left over to do a complete tune-up after purchase. I am kind of hesitant b/c it doesn't have RWD, but it will handle like a go-Kart, with the right suspension. I have my eye set on either the 1.3L-->1.6L conversion or the Stage II turbo for the 1.3L. With 200+whp you should still be able to get 25-30mpg in that car as well DbD |
