What kind of gas do you use most?
I mostly use chevron but when times are tough and I'm low on cash I'll use anything as long as my car can burn it

Yes, and gas station no matter the brand, Shell, BP, Citgo...etc.... can and does purchase gas from several different suppliers including each other as well as from themself. This gas all comes from the same tanks as regular, midgrade, and premium. Here comes the difference and what makes one better than the other. Shell, BP, Citgo, and mom and pops store...etc.. all have different brlend recipes for "their" additives. The additives are what makes the gas better. Additives help with lubricity (since we don't use lead anymore, yes lead was a lubricant), the cleaning of injectors, and each "brand" of gas has different levels of sediment and suspended solids (what ends up in the bottom of your gas tank. So, all the mom and pop places get the generic additives and the big oil companys use their recipes that are engineered to make theri brand better or worse then others. Shell V-Power is among the best fuel that can be purchased at the consumer level.... they spend a lot of money developing a good product, Exon/Mobil would be second to Shell. So when you are deciding who's product to put in your car, know that like everything else in life, you are getting what you pay for. Also, if you live in an area that has ethanol mandated, all gas has the same amount no matter the station....remember the whole thing about it all comes from the same place........ ** Disclaimer, I don't work for either of these companies...***

I agree...I mean you can't even compare a arco to a lets just say 76....The quality is totally different...Arco is like watered down gas..Car feels like garbage if you fill up with that stuff.

whatever's cheapest. makes no sense to me to put high octane if i'm only putting around town. 87 works fine and dandy. i only use 91 on the bike because it usually costs about 6 to 8 bucks to fill it up.

I usaly go to this ghetto station that has 2 pumps that are like 30 yrs old. They don't even say what brand of gas it is, maybe Tesoro? Anyway it is usally the cheepest gas around $1.89 for 87. I have had bad experiences with Shell gas.
Hey Shell I got something in my pocket for you...wait...oh here it is |

all about 76 (ethanol alcohol based verses most places with their shitty MTBE). Individual lab tests showed that 76 is the most stable gas out there compared to the others. Gas mileage however wasn't the best (Shell got best) but with that, Shell also got the most unstable rating. It's all an investment, i go with 76.
