Cool '77 280z S30 Build

Finally made another build thread.. To start it off... I'll be copypastaing from my stanceworks thread.

Some of you may remember when I came onto this forum with my Lexus on Rezax back in 2013...

I ended up selling her without the wheels, and selling the wheels separately to later get this.. As some of you that may know me personally on here, or from the S30 i had owned back in 2010-2012, I must say the S30 chassis is my passion and absolutely my favorite car in the world hands down.

So far:
Triple 45MM Weber Carburetors
JDM Haruda Triple Carburetor Manifold
Carter P4070 Hi-Pres. Fuel Pump
BC BR Type Coilovers for S30Z
Gas tank clean out/rust removal

Welding cred: Buckey Laing @ Gloss Factory

and this is how they sit as of today, the fuel plumbing isn't final either. prob gonna go with some banjo and AN fittings, steel braided, you know, typical shit.

But yeah, TONS of build to come. Planning to keep this car as long as I can.

changed out the harmonic balancer and replaced the stock rad for a 3 row.

More to come soon

Looks beautiful. I have to agree with you, S30's are one of my favorite chassis too. By the way, does the car have any rust?

overheating was caused more than likely due to a clogged up radiator. These things are old and radiators act a lot like cooling system filters, a 70's radiator that has never been rodded out or even flushed will more than likely be half clogged, i know for sure mine was. And an electric fan will rarely be more efficient than mechanical/clutch fan, especially more than any ebay/vatozone special with no shroud and u will see very minimal power gains-if any-from swapping to an electric fan. Im not busting your balls here, just telling you what I know, I actually love the car, looks to be in really good shape.
Who welded the coilovers? Do you have any picture of that work? Im considering bc's now instead of the koni yellow/GC coils combo I was considering before, but I dont know, Im still a long way from that part on my build...

well that things long gone, now its 3 row rad, the fan is temporary but doing the job, plan to upgrade to a 16in mishimoto later. I felt quite a noticable power gain from losing both the fan and ac/idler pulleys. The fan didnt even have a clutch it was some o'rale holmes clutchless metal blade type, weird and spinning too fast and made noise. Thnks though, the BC coils are great and come with camber in all 4 corners and are full body style opposed to ground controls, so you wont lose suspension travel if you wanted to go low.

Update:

I got my wheels on and they look just as good as I thought they would. Fooled alot of people so far into thinking they're real Watanabe RS wheels lol. Rotas my favorite replica company so I'm happy and didn't pay have to pay 750 a wheel plus insane shipping lol. I need a 20mm up front and maybe a 15mm in the back to get me flush and poking nicely. For those wondering why no flares? well simply put: I don't like the idea of a plastic or carbon guard, and when I would take it off, you see a cut up/ welded up fender. I'd Puke. They would have to be steel fenders welded on and then resprayed.. anyway...

specs:

Rota RKR
15x9j +0 all around

Toyo Extensa HP
195/50/15

If you dont like.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ too bad so sad, eat the D
