After thinking about it, i have decided that it would be more practical for me to swap in a ka24de instead of the sr motor. I have decided that i wanted to go with a motor from a 95-98 model year. How much would the COMPLETE SWAP cost not including installation? And is it any harder to swap the newer ka24de then the one from 91-94? Finally, does anybody know of a good place to get the Engine swap from? Thanks for your time and help.

Ok, i have an 89 240. The engine is a ka24e that has 204,000 miles on it, and their is something new wrong with it everyday. Instead of dealing with all these problems which are very costly, i think it would just be better to get a new engine. That is why I have been trying to get information on the prices and benifits of a swap to a better engine instead of just getting another sohc.

Can i use the tranny and ecu that i have with the sohc engine on a newer dohc? Me and a friend of mine are planning on doing the install ourselves and i wanted to know if using the old tranny and ecu (if possible) will make the swap anymore difficult. Thanks for any help given.
