RB rb25det s2 harness on s1 motor

this has been covered millions of times i have read up on it, but someone is going to trade me a s2 harness and coilpacks with a mines tuned ecu for my converted s1 harness for a 240.. i know that if i have the s2 harness and ecu and coilpacks it should work......but people have said that there are slight electricla differences like certain plugs and things....... can anyone tell me what plugs those are, and if i can just swap them with the plugs on my harness

Between S1 and S2 there are very few differences. One will be the TPS sensor plug for the throttle body. The S1 only has one plug and the S2 harness has two plugs. You will need an S2 TB unless you know of a workaround for the wiring. I'm not sure if the second plug is even necessary.

The gray power wire to the fuel injector harness is integrated into the S2 harness and does not need to be wired to power separately. So you should be good to go with that.

The MAF plug on the S2 harness only has 3 wires, where the S1 MAF has a 4 pin plug, so you'll need to get a different MAF.

Can anybody else think of any other differences?

you're right.

if it's a series 2 neo harness, the cam angle sensor wiring may be reversed (basically exactly the same only flipped around) , so you'd just have to depin the plug and repin it exactly backwards. if it's not a neo then you should be fine with everything else Darius said. just to verify you are correct about that other tps plug, it's worthless aka the grey plug = worthless, the brown plug = tps

on the s2 tps brown plug

series 2 = function = series 1
yellow/black = 5volt power = red
red/blue = tps signal = white
blue/black = ground = black

on a similar note, does anyone know if the plug on the VCT solonoid is different between s1 and s2 rb25s?
