Alrighty, my 93 240SX engine is overheating. It keeps going past the top line and gets pegged on the H. So I changed my oil, replaced my radiator, and replaced my thermostat. So I did that and that helped a lot. It no longer gets pegged on the H, buuuuttt the little dial on the meter doesnt stay in the middle, it is probably about 3/5-3/4 the way to the H and doesnt fluctuate much, so its a little past the middle. I have a HUD, I dont know if it is suppose to run a little past the middle...sooooo...help! I bought a new coolant temperature sensor but I dont see where I install it at, anyone know where? Doesnt say where it is located in my manual, just shows a pic of the sensor.

My thermostat on my S14 runs my gauge hot...its about 3/4 way up, but that is all the time...from 30 degrees outside to 90 degrees with A/C on ( like yesterday...I hate the heat)

i heard from someone one the amarok list that the temp sensor is pretty much 3 position when he tested it out. he said it went from extremely cold, went to operating temperature, and above that just shot straight up to hit the h. i think he used some sort of voltage across the leads to test it out. so basically it may be that your new thermostat is just putting out a slightly higher voltage than your previous one.
just speculation ^_^ |
