KA24DE coil packs?

hey guys,

I was looking around at stuff for a KA-T build I want to do. wanted to make the bay look a little cleaner, so I was looking to ignitor packs, like an SR. I was looking at MSD igniton Products.

just wondering if this is like just for the ignition timing, which from what I have read up on it, that's all it seems to be.

but I'd like to get ignitor packs for the KA, if someone has some info for me that would be awesome, or some sort of direction to go.

So say I wanted to use Maxima coil packs for example, would I need to get a tuneable ECU or could I just run my normal ECU??

You will need to convert to an SR ECU or Standalone EMS. Normal KA ECU is not meant to work on COP ignition.

I'm not quite sure how I'll get my KA to run on an SR ECU? unless, I take I'd be using pretty much everything the SR uses for the turbo set up.

Im working on the same thing but i am going to be running a aem ems. I was looking thru chase bays wiring harnesses and it looks like their is a good amount of options for coilpacks. It looked like aem sells something that can be used but im not 100% sure how it would work.

I would probably leave it alone unless your going for big power and are using a stand alone. Im going the COP route but im using megasquirt and getting it tuned by a shop.

You can either do chipped(for your setup) or get a tune-able ecu(nismotronic, nistune, etc) and you can use whatever setup you want on your KA. I hear you may have to use the SR cas disk in the KA dizzy though.
