Loose bearing or Ball Joint?

On my 1990 S13 Hatch. My rear wheel is making a noise as if a low tire would make but the tire pressure is good (Ill have you know this , because i checked! )

No noticeable wobble that my friend saw while driving. BUT! I can jack the car up and the tire seems to have some play if you shake it (all directions)

My buddy that has a shop down here said it could possibly be the Ball Joint is broken. Also was told the hub could be bad and I read somewhere on here someone said the axle nut could be loose.

If the wheel bearing is bad do you think I should just get the 5 lug hubs for the rear online and swap those in and do the ball joint at the same time? Would like to not spend money if this is a common issue and the problem is something as simple as a loose bolt or something.

Thanks for any help and have a sideways weekend

Why not take it to your buddies shop and have them look at it...and if you plan on going 5 lug it's the way to go.

Okay i just looked at it. When i shake the wheel the axle moves with it. If i pull on the axle and put some pressure on it it doesnt move anymore. Think the axle nut needs tighten?

Put the car on stands...put it in nuetral and spin the suspected wheel while your hand is on the spring, if it is a bad bearing you will feel it.Also, if there is play when you wiggle the tire with hands on top n bottom of tire this can be an indication also but could be the ball joint

Tightened the axle nut down it was looser than a stripper but it tightened up and still has play. Im doing 5 lug conversion hubs with new ball joints this weekend so we will see if she holds up. I blew the clutch drifting this weekend so that too but ill keep everyone posted.
