Q45 lsd into S14 open diff

ive searched but i cant find a definite answer on this. is it possible to take the q45 r200 and swap it into an s14 open diff housing? just use vlsd output shafts? im trying to avoid having the use the q45/z32 tt axles, hubs etc. thanks.

I'm still trying to figure out why you would want to use a viscous from a car that is around 10 years old. The trouble really isn't worth it. Either stick with your open, get it welded, or buy a hlsd.

good question. Since its a r200 housing. i would assume that it would slip right in. Dont forget to reset the r&p contact pattern and gear lash. I understand that the ring & pinion may be a different ratio as well.

btw: i have z32tt axles and stubs. pm me if you want them

oh and Jung918 speaks some truth... lol

Q45 (G50) diff will bolt into an S14 with no modifications. Left Side axles will need to be used from a Z32 TT and Q45 (G50).

Z32 TT LH axle on the LH side of the S13/S14 and Q45 (G50) LH axle on the RH side of the S13/S14. Z32 TT or G50 hubs must be used.

You have to use those axles, etc for this reason:

Pasted pictures.

S chassis-----------------------------Q45--------------------Mazworx

Bolt spacing on the output shafts alone would stop you from not using axles from the Q.

im asking if you can use the r200 from the q45 lsd, s14 VLSD output shafts, with s14 axles. he doesnt want to go 5 lug, hence not using the q45/z32tt axles and hubs and drilling out the flange for the driveshaft. since the diff is an r200 and not an r230 like the z32tt i dont see why you cant just use s14 vlsd output shafts. just wondering if anybody has ever done it.

Okay. Ignore what I said, and have fun using a 29 spline output shaft in a diff that uses 30 spline output shafts.
