You have a MAF car
Therefore, you need to recirculate your BOV in order for it to run correctly/well/not stall out at stop signs/not require a 1200 rpm idle to work/ec etc

Leave it on. Don't worry about how loud your BOV is, the Type S sounds like a sneezing alien, the quieter the better.

Is this the same with the KA engine as well? I just bought a KA with a non-recirculating and it has all those symptoms.

Yup, it applies to all MAF (draw through that is) cars.

(Draw through means the MAF is on the turbo intake, blow through means the MAF is after the intercooler in the pipes...a no no with Nissan mafs IMO)

Alrighty thanks! I'm new to the F/I with cars and just picked this up but I think you may have just solved the problem with the car. I'll definitely look into getting a recirculating since this is a draw through MAF.

No worries! Recirculating really helps solve much of the idle, stalling after coming to a stop etc etc.

I think it depends on which side hot ir cold side your bov is on. I have the type r, cold side, non recirculated, and my idle and everything Is fine. No issues at all.

i love the bov sound. i have a greddy rz its louder than my old rs. i idle around 1000-1200, it doesn't bother me a bit. since i adjusted my decel air(3 years ago) i havent had a single problem with the car trying to stall.

Type R are overly sprung/heavy and probably isn't even working 100%, that's why it somewhat works.

Don't get me wrong, there are some cars that somehow just work...but it's amzing how much better they work once it is recirculated.

Yes, you can work the SAFC bandaid to keep your ricer sound.

I thought about getting the fitting for the type r and making it recirculate just too see if there was a difference. Can't find the fitting though.

Isn't it quieter when it's recirculated as well?

much much more quiet

The Type R shouldn't require a fitting, just put a hose over the outlet, and clamp it.

Yea, it's big...but you gotta do what you gotta do if you don't wanna buy the fitting hehe. Then again the fittings are probably dirt cheap anymore huh? Probably 15 or so bucks

What kind of pipe do you need on the intake to run the recirc? Is it going before or after the mafs? I also need to figure out how to run the hose from the valve cover to the intake so I can lose the stupid filter thats on it.

No, you want to retain that Valve cover T to your intake

As far as recirc, it's th same size diameter pipe as your BOV recirc. It's after maf, before turbo.
