Quick question for you wiring gurus...
The EGI fuse on the S14, is that used for the fuel pump? If so, can I interrupt this line and use it as the trigger for an upgraded relay and wiring for my fuel pump? Also, I have a Blue Sea systems 12 gang fuse block that is rated at 32VDC, 30A per circuit, 125A total. Circuits that I will be using on the block are: IGN - 30A P WINDOW - 25A RH LAMP - 20A LH LAMP - 20A AUDIO - 15A ALT S. - 7.5A EGI - 7.5A Oddly enough, the circuits that I chose to keep in the car total to exactly 125A (which is the max capacity for the fuse block). Common sense would assume that these circuits wouldn't always be pulling these amperage values, so there should be wiggle room to add more circuits... Do you think it's SAFE to add another 30A fuse for my radiator fans and a 10-15A for my oil cooler? I'm leaning towards no, but I want to get input from people that have done this before. Thanks! EDIT: Does the ALT S. wire absolutely have to go to the battery side or can I leave it on the fuse block after the breaker?

Don't want to try and spend anymore money but I'm wondering if I should just buy a block like this and do the entire setup on this one block:
4 Circuit (Higher AMP components) IGN - 30A MIDI/AMI Fuse RAD FAN - 30A MIDI/AMI Fuse 45A FL - 40A MIDI/AMI Fuse 75A FL - 70A MIDI/AMI Fuse 6 Circuit (Lower AMP components) P WINDOW - 25A RH LAMP - 20A LH LAMP - 20A AUDIO - 15A ALT S. - 7.5A EGI - 7.5A This is all well in theory, however, this setup still requires me to find a place to add a 15A fuse for my oil cooler fan. I just want to do this as cleanly and safe as possible. If anyone has any completely different ideas, please chime in. I am definitely no wiring master and can use all the help I can get.

I've been dealing with wiring problems for a while now, i got to the point where i want to make my own body harness. I just have a couple of quick questions for you gurus.
I have a 96 s14, and i want to know if you guys knew of anything that needs to be in the body harness for car to work? Second question is how hard is it to wire your cluster in? What relays/fuse holders do you recommend? |

Majority of the tuck summed up. At least chassis harness wise. Need to clean up the engine harness next

They were prototyping chassis harnesses back in September '15. I'm not sure how much progress has been made though. On another note, for anyone that has rewired the engine bay/fuse box harness in their S14, what have you guys done with the SMJ? I want to use all new wire, but I have not found an SMJ or pin kit anywhere. Just a pin kit would be great, if it even exists. Are people just cutting the factory wiring into pig tails and then soldering to the new wiring?

In my 89 S13 I tucked the engine bay harness with both the fuse and relay boxes under the dash and the only wires I cut and extended was to the headlights. Pretty simple when there's not climate controls or ducting under there

I relocated my fuse box to behind the center vents on the dash, just above the climate control and radio. Just pop out the vent and boom all my fuses.
