Where to find replacement gasket?
Ok, I am putting my new SR longblock together and I am in need of the Turbo elbow gasket. I have a 3 inch edge racing turbo elbow which seems to be the same as the Megan racing elbow. Does anyone know where I can pick up a gasket for this elbow. I need the 3 hole gasket.
Also, I've checked the local auto parts stores and no one seems to have an good match for it.

Yeah, that gasket is like the mystery gasket, dood. It exists, just not where ever you might be at the time.
Try http://phase2motorsports.stores.yaho...2m370doga.html I've also heard that Autzone carries this gasket, both in a stainless steel variety and the regular paper one. Seems to be pure dumb luck when it comes to Autozone, though. Good Luck! |

Autozone does NOT carry anything remotely like that unless you buy their header bypass kit, with caps and hardware, for like $30 designed for V8s.

Alright, well I guess I will try Autozone tomorrow on my lunch break. If I don't find anything there, I will have to start calling all the other stores listed above. Thanks

Ok, guys well I stopped by a local import shop earlier and found the gaskets that I was looking for. Thanks for the help though.
Well, now I have another quick question. Since this is the first time I've done this, I figure I better ask then get something wrong. The FSM says that when I'm bolting the turbo to the exhaust manifold to install the gasket between the exhaust manifold and the turbocharger with the lappet side facing the exhaust manifold. My question is which side is the lappet side? The one that is slightly raised??? Does this really matter????
