s14 Gauge cluster light issues

I just picked up a '95 s14 not too long ago and I'm just fixing all the loose ends, so when I went to replace the bulbs behind the cluster everything seemed to go smoothly. Once I put everything back together I noticed that the cluster lights only go on once my headlights are turned off, but once the headlights are turned on the cluster lights go out. Any insight? All help is appreciated, thanks.

You've installed LED bulbs backwards or you failed to reconnect the dimmer switch.

That would cause the lights not to come on at all.

OP, is the rest of your interior lights functioning the same way, or just your dash lights?

All of my interior lights function fine, it's only the gauge cluster, but using the dimmer also doesn't do anything and it's fully plugged in so Im thinking that may have gone bad as well.

I had the same on my 95, just fixed it. My dimmer was blown, so i just opened it up and soldered it.
