Injen with the CAI? A dealer told me he could install a bypass system that will keep the filter dry if I happen to go over a large puddle or something. Anybody heard of this kinda thing? Is there a heat shield for the Injen system to keep the hot air out?

If you get a K&N air filter, there is a special oil they sell with it (it isn't very expensive at all) to apply that is almost completely waterproof. I believe that K&N is the only company that specializes in stuff like that. You have to reapply the oil and clean the filter once in a while, but K&N air filters have a lifetime guarantee. If it would make you feel more comfortable about the CAI, I would say go ahead and have someone build a shield to help prevent water getting into the filter, but I wouldn't have a dealer do it, unless he's going to do it "on the side" at a friend's price--he'll rip you off otherwise. As for the heat shield, I'm wondering the same thing because I'm saving the money for the Injen intake with CAI. I hear it's awesome when the weather gets cooler!

i just installed the Hotshot intake.... GOD IT WAS A BITCH! lol... it was not too hard but too many little problems....
1st) make sure u get all those hoses (new ones) and make sure they are long enough
2nd) make sure u buy hose clamps
3rd) make sure u buy nuts and bolts (4) for the MAFS (Mass Air Flow Sensor)
4th) need a new "T" spliter for the hoses...

NOTE * there is 1 sensor i dont know where to put, second- there is a hose that connects into the stock intake box that connects to something in the right side of the engine (driver side)..... WHAT ARE THEY?
the thing does suck air... but i have no clue what it is sucking

I have the injen intake and the "shield" that he was talking about was an AEM By-PAss Valve that works with any Cold air intake. The Injen is awesome.
