Question Door ajar light stays on. Annoying as hell pleez help!

Hello ppl. I think I was able to diagnose the problem but not sure exaclty.

My door light on the cluster is constantly on now, and my auto seatbelts dont go down when I open the door. The seat belts are fine but as you S13 owers know they go up and down automaticly well mine go up but not down accept when the key is in the on position.

So I now think that my harness plug to the door sensor(s) is dead and I need a new one.

has any one experianced this b4 and solved it.

please let me know.

thank you

Sounds like a problem with the door ajar sensor like you said. It's right behind the the seat, pretty obvious where it is. I'd imagine you could test it by unplugging it, and using a continuity tester on it to see if it's functioning. I've never tried it though, so don't quote me on that.

Should be able to test it w/ a powerprobe. Your going to prob need to take out the rear interior 1/4 panel. You will see a wire that leads up to the door jam which should go to the switch.

I was going to recommend taking a running start and slamming the shit out of the door to make SURE its closed.

If the seatbelts come down when you turn the key, whats the big deal?

Sometimes it's nice to have the dome light on when the door opens.

But my car doesn't have those sensors. For me, the dome light only comes on when I switch it on. Those sensors would only be used for the dome if I had them. I swapped the craptastic auto seatbelts for some equally bad from a sentra, so my seatbelts don't care if the door is open or not.
