F1 GP of Montreal
OK for those who watched the race, you can agree it was probably the best race this year. Not for the amount of carnage on the track but the amount of surprises that were presented. Alonso made an insane amount of mistakes (as did most of the drivers), 2 drivers were black flagged (Fisi + Massa), probably the craziest crash in recent memory, tons of overtaking, lots of safety car periods, and the first black driver to win a F1 race.
Out of all of these though, the most impressive was Takuma Sato. A driver who most of the media portrayed as a "crash-a-holic" has recently been driving amazing even passing Alonso in the closing laps (he passed Fisi at Monaco too!) If you haven't seen the race, I suggest you look for it and watch it. If you aren't a F1 fan, you will be after this race. Whats more is that the best track still hasn't been run, Spa Francorchamps! Also kudos to Fox and Speed, Fox couldn't have picked a better time to show F1 for all the public to enjoy. PS- If you wanna see the Kubica crash, go here .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeaWo9p4uI0 Amazingly he didn't break a bone in his body or sustain major injuries. He's in the hospital as a precaution and will be released tomorrow.

Insane race for so many reasons.
Honda in third at the closing of the race. haha that didn't last. Sato Super Best Friends club doing a PASS on world champ Alonso. Alonso cutting corners every fucking time. All the wrecks. jesus. Kubica - so glad he is well. It did NOT look good live. They would not show anything from the area. Thought he died... but glad he is ok, again.

I've heard kubica broke his leg, but the statement from the hospital is that there is a trauma to his brain and a sprained ankle.
I don't know who has portrayed sato as a crasho-holic(maybe last year super aguri? THEY DIDNT HAVE TRACTION CONTROL FOR MOST OF THE YEAR) but he has always been good. Put him in a good car and let him loose. Passing Kimi and then alonso in the same race is great too see. I am really not liking the Safety car. I really don't wanna see it out there. This isnt nascar. With massa and fisi, why not put a lightbar across the exit of the pit? F1 cars are so low anyways. If not that maybe their crew should have somebody watching the light. On exit. |

That was a huge crash, he ended up with only a minor concussion and a sprained right ankle. If this happened 5-10 years ago it probably would have been fatal.
I like looking at the amature videos of the race on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_XRE...elated&search= If anyone finds in-car of the crash please post it. Hamilton FTMFW!!!!!!!!!!! |

As far as the safety car, it's main goal is maintaining safety for the drivers, marshals, and fans. With so many incidents, it was a good idea they brought it out so much. F1's rules have changed this year, but its up to the drivers and teams to know what changes. If they understand a rule which doesn't allow them to change the height of a front wing to a THOUSANDTHS of a millimeter, than they should have no problem understanding a mundane rule by comparision of not exiting or entering pits if the light is red. If the drivers didn't know its up to the team to tell the driver. Kubica stayed in place on the first SC period so it wasn't like the rule was just written that same day.

Ok I follow Formula one to the point that I am probably buying tickets for Fuji in sept. Yes I will go to Japan and watch Formula one in person!
That said, lets move on to yesterdays race. Alonso did not drive bad mistakes were made but he made a decent recovery from them, even though Sato really showed him up lol. Takumi Sato? He and Super Aguri are coming on strong. Watch this team and driver, he is starting to show the seasoning he needed to win races. Shall I wax poetic over Lewis Hamilton? Fucking next F1 superstar if not one of the best drivers the Series has ever seen. Yes I said that. If there was someone that could rise to the challenge of Schumachers legacy its Hamilton and watching him win yesterdays race was damn exciting. He is taking McLaren places! Thank god Kubica was not injured worse. That crash shocked me watching it unfold I thought for sure he had banged his head hard. All in all its turned into a very interesting season. P.S. Remember folks next year no more traction control. Which I might add is a good thing.

kubica has a sprained ankle and a possible concussion, according to last reports. i thought this GP was going to suck, but it was possibly the best GP i've ever watched. super aguri are doing well this year. and people laughed when i said they impressed me after the first race.

I just watched the race and have agree with everyone. I am proud to say ive been rooting for Super Aguri from the start. Sato rocked that race. He passed Kimi and Alonso. Just awesome. I was real upset about Masa getting blackflagged. Ferrari should be better then getting in trouble for something like that. And finally Hamilton did a great job. This race seemed to be very taxing as half of the starting cars didnt finish.

First of all - wow, that was a great race.. so much fun to watch! It's simply amazing that Lewis Hamilton has been on the podium in EVERY race in his rookie season thus far. That alone speaks volumes about his skill level.
That's awesome that this year's GP of Japan is at Fuji. I thought I read that they had one more year at Suzuka, and then they might actually have two dates in Japan, oh well, I think I'd much prefer to see Fuji over Suzuka. I've always been a fan of Massa, mostly because I've met his uncle a bunch of years ago. I think I still have an autographed poster from when Felipe was driving for Sauber four years ago or so.. Anyway, I just hope the US GP is as good as the last race. If it is, I might need to add speed channel to my cable to watch the Fuji race! |
