what's the deal with the single wiper blade being halfway up the windshield? im seeing that more and more nowadays. is that like 2018's version of those new driver badges?

My guess is kids not realizing this was already a thing in the late 90s and it's making a comeback. I actually had this for a few weeks once when the wiper linkage broke and I only had one wiper for the whole windshield. Felt dumb, but I'm sure someone out there thought it looked cool.

but why was it a thing in the 90s? Just for the looks? I think its dumb and pointless as it doesn't do anything other than obstruct your view slightly (im also looking at you big ass stickers on the windshield).

Single/ Mono wipers are extremely common on Circuit/ race cars...
