Soooo, these have been sitting around for a while,
And I took one apart so I can take it by the machine shop to have the flange milled down, looks good overall, there were no shavings inside the casing, BUT I think I may have a worn syncro which I know these transmissions are bad about. Either way I'm at the point where replacing it won't be hard. And I got the disassembly info here: http://video.350zclu...%20Coupe/mt.pdf |

The machine shop really wasn't joking that they were 3-4 weeks out on getting the bellhousing onto the CNC, finally got it back Friday. While they had it they also drilled 2 holes into the adapter plate that weren't originally there due to the fact that the plate was designed for the VQ35DE trans and not the VQ35HR trans that I have. With the bellhousing milled down now, things can progress.
Bellhousing back in hand I got a friend to help me line everything back up and we bolted the bellhousing back on. I also found that for whatever reason my ecu pooped and wasn't giving a fuel pulse to the injectors, swapped ecus and now we're back in business! Hopefully things will pick up a little with this build now that I've started a new job and can throw more money at this. |

Spent more time today cleaning the garage up in order just to get to the S13 to tinker on it, than I actually did working on the car. I've been meaning to figure out a good way of plugging the PCV ports on the intake manifold and just happened to stumble upon a fix today.
So as you can see, after mashing up and removing the steel pipe insert from the aluminum intake manifold, I found a piece of aluminum at a friends work (machine shop) that was exactly the right size. What are the fucking odds? "Pressed" or eerrr hammered into place, and done. I also got some exhaust work done as well, more updates on that soon. |

For a while now I've suspected ecu issues or issues with the tune. When the car was tuned it was a 110 degree day, probably the worst time to tune, esp for a cold start up or cold idle. My friend Jay stopped by after work with a spare ecu and it started right up. Interesting. So I put my ecu back in and gave it another try, fired right up. Confirmed, with my ecu the engine won't fire when the block is cold. With a few other issues addressed, the car seemed to idle great!
Happy about firing it up after sitting for close to 2 years, there was only one thing to do. . . bounce it off of 7k. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypt0ypignIQ |

Took the car out for a little drive the other night, broke traction at 3,500 rpm and spun thru first, then thru second, then blew a intercooler hose. Add that to the list of things to fix.
BUT BOY IS THIS THING A ROCKET. |

9.5" wide rears just don't cut it, the car breaks loose at around 3k-3,300 rpm with boost starting to kick in, so the only logical step is to go wide body and join the cool kids with stupid offsets and body kits that cost more than this roller shell did. . .
55mm Origin Type 3 rear over fenders should to the trick, sheet metal screws are holding it all together until I get the fitment I want, then rivets will replace the screws Now, going all wide body is all well and good, but it would look kinda silly with stock bumpers and side skirts, so those are being upgraded too. What have we here? More Origin Labs goodness? Again, everything is getting fitted well before its riveted With the rear bumper installed, and the side skirts fitted on the quarter panel end I'm kind of at a stand still until Origin gets their 50mm Type 3 fenders back in stock before I can fit the front bumper and the front of the side skirts. |

With a little free time this weekend I tore into the stock bumper lights, they were crusty and old looking (as most are on 20+ year old cars), so I wet sanded and buffed the lens, then removed the lens from the housing and installed these LED panels I got. Shit makes the stock bulb set up look like candles. Personally I think it turned out great, the final product is going to be blinding at night. Yes, I'm aware that the stock bumper lights have a turn signal and marker light, these will only have the turn signal function now.
Then made the 6+ hour round trip to pick up these bad boys from my friend Patrick. These are going to make the look of this car now, and while I never saw myself owning a set of Work wheels, they look fucking BOSS. Def gonna need moar low. . . Now let the hunt for tires begin! |

Thanks man! Worked on the tail lights a little last night, I ran out of LEDs, more LEDs will be added when my order comes in the mail. But for now you see where this is headed. . .
BTW, the LED panels I have fit perfectly! Once the rest come in I'll start wiring them up and epoxy them in the tail light housing. |

These are about all the pics I managed to take while making my turn signals for my Silvia bumper. I bought these LED panels which have 36 surface mount LEDs per panel, you can see the difference 9vdc and 12vdc have on the light output. 9vdc will be great for running lights/ park lights, while 12vdc will be great for brake light function and turn signals. I wet sanded and
With that in mind, I took 3 LED panels, wired the postive and negative together, epoxy'd (epoxied?) them in the park light housing, and left it to cure These panels are thin enough that I only had to sand a very small amount of material out of the housing to have them sit flush and back enough for the lens to clear the LEDs. You can see that 12vdc applied to the LEDs is MORE than enough juice. I will only be using these as turn signals so I didn't wire up the park light fucntion, HOWEVER, I have ordered some 3k ohm resistors to use on my next set of bumper lights so I can test out my theory of using lower voltage for park light functions. |

Bought one front and one rear tire for the VS-XX wheels to test fit and make sure they fit/ look good on the car. I think I love these wheels more than any other I've ever had. . . got some Achilles 305/30/18 ATM Sport 2 tires, figured I'd give them a try and see how they look / fit. Worse case I'm out $90 per tire.

HELLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOO
Overall I'm happy with the fitment, I still need to lower the rear another inch, and of course still waiting on the front fenders which are out of stock till October |

I'm sorry but I just can't picture what that's used for? I'm just asking because I was thinking if I should cut mine out also. I tried searching but couldn't find anything... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It's where two body panels meet, and outter and an inner, not sure how to explain it any simpler than that, sorry.
Wouldn't be too hard to cut the flange off and tack weld the two body panels together there. |

Side by side comparison of the S13 bumper lights I converted to LED vs the standard bulb.
Then started on my first tail light, 216 LEDs and I may add more. Mocked up in the housing. |

Haven't touched the car in almost a year now, was surprised it fired up first try the other day, that was a pleasant surprise!
I had a friend who is a welder for a living (@the.josh.sandy on instagram) extend my FLCA while he was at it I asked him to box them in as well, they turned out fucking awesome! Almost a crime to paint them, I should've just gone with matte clear :/ Love, love, love the new look. |
