ATTENTION EVERYONE!

I notified Alameda County this afternoon that their website listed two different locations for the public hearing regarding Altamont Motorsports Park and drifting. The County did not know of the error and has advised me (see below) that the meeting will be held at:

Public Works Operations Building
4825 Gleason Drive
Dublin, CA 94588

The County will delay the start of the hearing until 2:00pm and will have staff at the Pleasanton site to re-direct people (with maps) to the new location. It’s only a 10-15 minute drive on the other side of I-580 and is easy to to get to. Here’s a map:

Let us be heard! KEEP DRIFTING ALIVE IN NORCAL!

Alameda County will be holding the hearing regarding DRIFTING at Altamont Motorsport Park. The County’s “Board of Zoning Approval” (BZA) is the entity that will hear the issues.

Please come and support and keep DRIFTING alive in Northern California this Thursday March 22nd at the Public Works Operations Building, 4825 Gleason Drive, Dublin, CA 94588

The hearing will start at 1:00pm and we asked that you come and support us. Please bring your parents if you are under 18 years of age so they can speak out in support of our organization and the drift movement. Business owners around the area (Fremont, Tracy or Livermore) or anyone that supports this motorsport or you is welcome to come speak out. Carry dead bodies if you have to! We ask that you come quietly, if possible ride together in stock unmodified cars.

The specific grievances (issues) that Mark and Karin Rivard (the neighbors) and their attorneys will claim are :
(1) drifting is outside of AMP’s operating permit;
(2) excessive noise from drifting;
(3) street racing outside AMP’s facility on Midway Road;
(4) trash on Midway Road from drifters;
(5) drug use and drinking by drifters;
(6) anything else they can make up…

The Public usually gets 5 minutes to speak. They are strict on the time allotment. If you would like to read one of our PRESENTATIONS to the County, please contact me at [email protected]

You can present pictures and such; however, anything you bring as “evidence” must be presented to and left with the BZA for the public record. So, anything you want to show or present (Powerpoint, pictures, charts, etc.) should be printed (5 copies) on plain old 8-1/2″ x 11″ paper and presented to the Board. Don’t get too fancy. All they want are the facts.

That sucks!

Allowing drifting on the track should lower the amount of street drifting. I think they would be able to realize that. Most people will go to a legal area instead of a illegal area because there is zero chance of getting fines. Is drinking not allowed at the track? If so, people drink at other motorsports events there also.

Doing what I can on the Internet, because I can not help In person.

I think it would be a smart idea for people who do show up to not go there thugged out and what not. Toss a silencer on your car if you insist of driving your car there. Also make sure to annunciate yourself. That can make a world of difference...

APRIL 15th will be the last event for DRIFTxBATTLE.

Sorry to informed everyone that The County’s “Board of Zoning Approval” have informed Altamont that drifting will not be allowed anymore after April 15th. I suggest all you guys to register on our last event.

We like too give a big thank you to everyone that came out today and supported us. Hoping us DRIFTxBATTLE would be able to find a new venue to practice.
