Yea I been thinking about painting the coil pack cover black but I just have not gotten to it yet. The silver looks a lot better in person than it does in the pics.

It's VHT and yes it's very durable... I have been doing covers with this same stuff for years and never had an issue with any of them. My old Daily driver saw around 200k and the cover still looked great just had to wash it off every now and again. They had a blue color at one time but that color has been discontinued, all they have as far as I am aware of now is Black, Red and Gray. |

antifreeze is the name of the color. this is a fairly true picture of the color
indoors the color looks like topsecret gold

What I did since I have done a few with the Wrinkle paint is to sand the letters really smooth prior to painting it. This remove's the high spots on the letters and makes it easier to sand the paint off later. Then I painted the cover let it dry and took a razor blade to the letters to sort of shave the paint off. Then I used masking tape around the outside of the letters to help keep sanding dust off the cover and used 400 grit sand paper to get the letters clean.

not mine but a friends type-R valve cover.. 90 civic HB, fully bult 98 spec typeR motor,typeR tranny with locked diff, t3/t4 turbo, aem standalone, etc.. $660whp at 9,000 it what it put down.. car got stolen before it could ever hit a real track but ripped up the street races in san diego for a few months.
